Trails were pretty darn good last weekend, we did a pack trip from Bernard's on Friday up to Jack's Outback in Roberval via 355 to 73 to Relais 22 and then 83, about 297 miles one way. The pipeline was a little rough on Friday but nothing major. We came back to Bernard's on Saturday from Roberval via 355 all the way down to 360 and then into Shawinigan(about 230 miles), we broke trail for most of the morning from Roberval to Lac Edouard on 355 and there was lots of fresh powder and no sign of a groomer for a few days but it was fun. My only complaint is that 355 heading south from Roberval down to Lac Edouard is not very well marked, it was our first time on that trail, so we wanted to make sure we did not hit a local trail and get messed up. 355, the pipeline, was a little beaten up on Saturday but still not to bad and it had a few open water spots to be aware of. Sunday morning we headed out from Bernard's on 318 to Sacacomie and the conditions were perfect, some fresh snowfall and the groomer had just been through so we had virgin trails most of the way. Only problem was a bearing went on my driveshaft and had to be towed back to Sacacomie and take a cab back to Bernard's, did about 600 miles total before the breakdown. Get up to Quebec, the trails are only going to get better if the season continues like it was in December.

For Mon Ttues Wed Thats 7-8-9 Jan. Very bad shit. Stay Home. Rain Rain Rain.

We should be good by next weekend with a few water holes runoff canals. I will need some good riders to check the terrain.

We have some friends from Montreal that have a cottage near St. Zenon area. We were planning on going up Thursday night or Friday morning to ride for the weekend. Is this not advisable? Have the trails been ruined? Or, is there enough snow and low traffice that as soon the temps cool (Friday) the groomers will be able to restore to the pristine conditions we know and love? Thanks in advance.

Shane: We delayed a trip cause of this warm. It does not sound good. Wet as things are and it getting VERY cold it is gonna be a block of ice. Positive is that they are calling for SNOW!!!

We were going to go up this coming week, but we are going to wait until conditions get better with some new snow.

I have talked with you before at the restaurant and saw you at the Chiropractor on Friday before you were heading to Bernard's. We are leaving tomorrow morning to take the wives to Esterel for the weekend and the 4 place is full, so you would probably not want to jump in on this trip. We are racing the next two weekends after that and then are going to Switzerland for a week but we will be back up to Bernard's in February. I will look you up next time we head up.

I live over on the South End of the Lake, near Panza's, and we like to make a lot of trips north during the season.
