Henry Margusity is a 100% certified crack-pot. He's easy to like because his forecasts are always VERY optimistic.

I remember one storm last winter where JUST 12 hours before the storm he claimed my area would receive 18 to 24 inches of snow. We got a couple inches of sleet and that was it.

Hopefully this winter turns out much better results!
MountainMan
EVERYBODY has their ups and downs. I look at a lot of different source, and post a few for others that dont read it all the time. That storm was tough, we had the corect amount of precip, but a layer of warmth up in the atmosphere caused the snow to be sleet. Cant always get each layer at the corect temp, too dynamic.

Just hoping for a average winter if possible.

I am hoping for above average but would be please with average!!

I've been thinking of riding on a daily basis now.....bring on winter!

Well I just heard from a very reliable source that a huge snow storm will hit October 11, 2007.

I laughed my ass of when I hear it, lets see if it comes true

I was in Vermont last October 2006, 19-22, and the rain changed to 4" of heavy wet snow. I dont think that will happen for quite some time to come. Its going to be a warm fall, hopefully December will be the big patern change.

Accuweather is calling for temps in the 20's and snow on the night of the 15th... I hope it is nothing too huge, I dont want branches breaking in the trails again...

It was the second driest Aug-Sep combination on record! We shall see how this plays out. It snowed on Oct. 4th in 1987! Here we are on Oct 4th 2007 with record high temperatures! Wacky!
MountainMan
Good videos of that snow from years ago. I only hope that with these record breaking temperatures, once the season arives, we get a good dose of winter.

Ill be at a sled show Saturday, wearing shorts and a tee, and swetting away. This aint right.

Think about it. It was just like this last fall we had a better fall than summer. Hope it doesnt but last year it was nice until end of Oct than rained for amonth or so then we got a little snow in early Dec than rained again on and off until late Jan. The mid Feb we got real snow and had 2 months or so of decent sledding. So basically winter got started 2 months late. Hope like hell that is not the case this year but it wouldnt surprise me with all these weird weather patterns we seem to have now.

I've been wondering about that. It seems the seasons are changing or lagging a month or so behind. I call it "seasonal changes"
