I found this link on ebay 2001 boots for 15.00 usd at your door! I would find something lighter then spark plug, the vibrations may cause them to come out ! I would fill the hole with a epoxie and put a small spring type hose clamp on it .

spark plugs do work. buddie of mine broke his in the u.p.
last year. shoved spark plugs in the holes and put hose
clamps on them. rode it the rest of the year that way.
he did put new boots on it before he sold it. not bad price
from the dealer if i remember right.

Use small rubber stoppers like the ones for a test tube avalable at your hardware store in the nuts & bolts section dont forget to use small hose clamps too !!!

If it were me I would buy new carb adapters, not that expensive and not worth taking chance of sucking air and cooking motor

pvc pipe end caps w/rubber cement and a clamp
or a livewell drain plug that has the lever to lock it in the draon hole,
this will expand the plug to hold it in and you can easily remove
it later if you want to use the holes again.

Both of my friends who cut their boots for boost bottles then removed them are using AA dry cell batteries, with hose clamps. The Energizers seem to be the fastest.
Just picked up rubber stoppers for 78 cents ea. at the hardware store.
Fit so snug & flush ,looks like they belong there. :div20:
Dealer quoted me $29 ea. and $44 ea. from another dealer. Didn't have them
in stock either.
Put a touch of goop (glue) around the stopper before plugging, didn't even need
to. :beerchug:
Now I'm down for a couple of day's waiting for a couple of radiatore hoses.

Spo- I'll tape my hood and bellypan back together with red duct tape, you tighten those hose clamps- let's ride em hard till we trade em in! :beerchug:

you shouldnt have lost any power by putting on a boost bottle but you will also not gain anything by installing one. i would sya you would be best off to just leave it on and check you'e plug color to make sure its not leaning out.

palmrose you say i didn"t lose power , it may be a coincidence but after i put it on my buddy with a 02 800 that always beat my sled by about 1 sled length in a long race maybe 1/2 mile , is now beating me by about 3 or 4 sled lengths in the same distance.but i have been eating a few to many 1/4 pounders lately.
