Hi, my parents just bought 7 acres in Morgan VT right next to Lake Seymour to build there summer retirement home. Im just wondering how the riding is in that area, trail access etc. My father said the lady who sold him the property was asked by (im assuming the local snowmobile club) if they could cut a trail on the property. Of course selling the land she could not allow them to but im sure my father would'nt have a problem with it seeing as how im a sledder. So if anyone here has any info on the area i'd like to hear about it, and it would also be nice to have a trail come right through my family's property both for my easy access and for more trails for everyone to ride. Thanks

There is a trail that goes to lake store & pumps near the public beach which if the lake is frooze you can get anywhere on the lake. The guy you are looking for would be Gader X Heard the trails are Mint in that area..
one ton fun
Trails are beautiful in Morgan! My parents have a place near the lake. When the lake is frozen there is trail access by the Seymour Market. The trail heads out of morgan to a junction which will take you towards derby if you take a left and towards norton/island pond/ canaan or back to derby again if you take a right. Derby Driftdusters maintains the trail and they do an excellent job. GaderX is president of the club and he knows these trails better than no other. So like others have said he is the guy to speak too. You will enjoy winters much more because Morgan gets a ton of snow!

Thanks. Morgan does get the most snow in our whole trail system...

As far as cutting a trail, I dont believe it was anyone from the club because we already have a trail down to Seymour. I am not sure where your land is, but Im sure you will be able to get to the trail. If you are a landowner, please contact me...

The Derby-Morgan-Norton Run gets pounded with traffic, but we try our best to keep the trails smooth.

Think Snow!

I stay in Morgan or Derby every year for the whole winter and riding out of that area is fantastic there are many directions you can go and alll of the trails are great.

Gader keep doing a good job up there we're all coming back up soon. I don't know what you ride but if it's a Doo the boys at Walts are good guys

We also have a home on the Valley road in Morgan. The trail goes through the field across the street from our house. Leaving the lake, if you hit bumps, you're headed to Derby, if the trail is smooth you're going to Norton! grinning-smiley-023.gif Just kidding GaderX!

P.S. I wonder if the trail you're talking about is an ATV trail. The ATV club in Island Pond was trying to get to Morgan with their trail, but there was a piece of land that the owner was unsure about letting them go through. Good possibility.

I have'nt been up to the property yet but its on toad pond rd, close to the town beach. Not sure if i'll be going up this year, the house wont be built till next year, but im lookin forward to riding nice trails because the riding around here sucks even at best conditions. If it was the ATV club thats cool too i've got a yamaha grizzly that i love riding also.
