Hi guys, I'm new to the site, and was also looking for others who ride in the Sioux Falls area. I live in Lennox, and will hopefully be getting a sled this week. I'm going to head up to Interlakes and check out a few. Going to be trading in my 300 EX for hopefully a nice long track of some sort. I've got a few in mind.
I never really thought about getting one while I was down here, but I don't have a clue where to ride a fourwheeler at down here, unless it's a the Renner track. I don't own any farm land and don't know anyone who does. I don't think it would be that much fun anyways. But I finally talked the wife into letting me get another sled, so we'll see. After I pick one up I'll let you guys know, after that if anyone wants to go riding let me know, I'll be down for it, since I'm sure you guys know some pretty good trails, because I don't have a clue.

I'll keep you posted. :beerchug:

Go to powerbrokersinc. Just picked up a perfect 96 phaser mountain lite for a great price. Interlake has alot, of junk. I'm going to be sledding the siouxland trail monday morning. I live on west 57th and will join the trail straight west of 57th and head north. Or I could head to lennox, makes no difference. If your older than 21 Deadeye, let me know and we'll go grab a drink. I'll also be out briefly saturday and sunday morning. e-mail me at fockerolfe@lycos.com for a quicker response.

Power brokers didn't have anything that I liked. I picked up a nice Powder Extreme. Deadeye has got a little something planned Sunday, I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you tagged along. The more the merrier. :beerchug:

I was out this morning and found my way to the siouxland trail. Powerbrokers has some siouxland trail maps that are much better than the online picture. I work sat and sunday from noon to midnight so I might not be able to hang with you all. After work i may tool around for a while and monday i'll be out riding most of the day.

If you want to ride with us meet us at 41st street and HWY 17 at the gas station at 1:00 on sunday afternoon. It is on the trail north of lennox.

I'm trying to get part of sunday of. If I can, i have my bro in law with his 99 vmax700 and possible another friend to come from pipestone and sled. We'll start in the morning around 9 and will sled till ~4. I'm sure, if i can go, we can meet up at 0100pm at the station. Hope to see ya there.

Whats the sled count so far?
I'll probably just ride up from Lennox. Any certain trails your hopin to hit?
deadeyedick
I am not sure the total sled count it depends on who all shows up.
I will be there at 1:00 and where we go is up to everyone I guess I am not to picky about where we go as long as the trails are in somewhat good shape.

Sorry I missed you all. I ended up only getting until 300pm off so we had to start early. I think we passed you on the way back. Red phaser wearing camo and a blue triple 700. I hope you all didn't go the Humbolt way. Yuck. We ended up going east to the river off trail and then down to the airport and back west over the interstate. It was pretty fun besides a blown belt on mine and about running out of gas. :frech32: That's why we had to go to the flying-j. Note to self, bring fuel because flying-J is 10% ethanol no matter what octane.

The humolt way was rough. The river is soo nice. I may end up going to the river monday morning. I'm going to scout out a quicker way to get there besides going all that way north. Perhaps at the least go the way we came back, take a right and head east towards the flying-J before crossing under i-90 . Crossing the bridge isn't bad at all.

Monday I won't be in such a pinch for time.

Yeah I think we saw you. we just got back 25th broke a ski so we had to go to my house and put on my set off my 580 so then we rode up to colton and back not a bad ride kinda ruff in spots but still had a good time. :beerchug: ylsuper.gif

So do you think your going to be out and about before/around noon monday? I don't think i'm going to go as far as the river alone. Perhaps i'll roll down to tea and have a beer and wings at tea. Is there anything in Lennox accessible like the tea steak house?
25THZ28
No not really. Lennox pretty much sucks as far as businesses go. I'm not sure yet how the local PD feels about sleds yet, thats why I just hauled it there with the pick up. Good thing I did too, it would have REALLY sucked when I busted that ski. :banghead: Thanks to deadeye the day wasn't over. I parked my pickup at the gas station at highway 17 and Deadeye gave me a ride back to it. I think you passed by right after I got it loaded into the truck. The trail was alittle rough, but all in all it was well worth it. Now i'm on the hunt for a deccent pair of skis. :help: :frech32:
fockerolfe
Yep, that was us on our way back. I wish I had more time, I would have liked to sled with you guys. Sucks that your ski busted. Your not able to get it welded up? I'm surprised I didn't jar anything loose. We couldn't find but small patches of powder. The river was the softest.

Before I go out tomarrow i'm going to put her in the garage and run over all bolts with my hand just to make sure. You would have thought that they would have groomed before the weekend. It would have at least softened the trail up a bit. I have to figure out why m middle 1/3 throttle is boggy too. They just rejetted the carbs and I think they went smaller...

In about 3-weeks, me and the bro-in-law are planning on doing a river run from the airport to dells and probably all the way up to flandreau, snow permitting. I'm trying to see if a couple of others can go too. No definite date yet. Around the 12th of March.

Looks like the quickest way to the river is north on Ellis and East on 60th St. North. Another option is I can get permission from Citibank to leave any vehicles there with cameras on them for a bit more security than just leaving them at Knome Hole(north airport).

If anyone wants to tool around and get a nooner beer and food give me a ring # 359-9847. Names Doug.

sorry I have to work in the morning :banghead: would like to go riding.
will get out again this weekend I think. luxhello.gif

Couldn't weld it. The ski is plastic.
I hear it's suppose to snow this Friday, and possibly through to Saturday.
I have to try and get Saturday off, just in case it does. Hopefully I can, then we might be able to go and tear it up while the snow is still fresh.
