I'm leaning on buying an SLP pipe for my 06 600HO that claimes to give it 10HP.Is this the right pipe for my sled?IF not what is?

Don't waste the money. Real gains when tuned properly would be more like 4 hp. Ask around on the site.

If not a pipe, besides jetting and clutching, what can i do to maximize perforance without adding a 660 kit?I've already upgraded from my stock 1' shockwave to a 1.25' ripsaw.

The SLP pipe does give some gains, just dont be expecting the full 10hp. The BMP pipe mod is surely loved around here...never run it before, but those that do seem to like it. It's much cheaper than the SLP too, but I really liked how the SLP looked/sounded.

you are better off doing some clutch and jetting work i have heard. The 06 fusion 6 was a bit off when stock, and needed some TLC to get it moving. Wait till SLP's pipe comes down in price too, get one on ebay used instead of paying the $500plus bucks for 4 horse power, because in the grand scheme of things, when you do the pipe and heads and clutching, you are talking $1,000 to make your sled go 5 mph faster. Think it over. Or pimp out the wife and get a 660 kit in there.

I've talked to people that actually dynoed the SLP, it was one of SLP's competitors so why would they lie. I was told 8 hp on the dyno. Remember there are a lot of guys that talk empty smack, even some that have the pipe and dis it cause it didn't make their sled the fastest around. You can't just slap a pipe on and think your going to own the snow. On the SLP wait too find one on e bay and save some money, early season is a good time but end of season is better.

In June of last year Dynotech tested the SLP pipe against the Bikeman (BMP) stock pipe mod and the BMP mod outperformed the SLP. From the numbers they showed, there was not even close to an 8 or 10 HP gain, more like 4 or 5.
The BMP stock pipe mod is $150 cheaper than the SLP pipe and of course looks stock. Good for riding where the cops are tough.
I did the BMP stock pipe mod and their clutch kit and am very happy. It really livened my sled up off the line, but mostly in the midrange and on backshift. The top speed went up slightly, but you will most notice in low and midrange, where I was looking to make a gain for trail riding.
Can't speak for the SLP other than what I read on Dynotech's website, but I will give a big props for BMP.
Take it for what its worth and good luck with whatever you choose

I'm sure SLP saw the 10hp when they tested the pipe, but there are a lot of other factors that come into play. It does look good and I've not heard mine yet but I'm told the sound good, they save some weight, and there are gains. I almost went Dynoport but then like I said eariler I got a good deal on the SLP.

Stormtrooper,
HOpe the SLP works out for you and is more than "justs sounds better". I have not heard a lot about it, hope you get the 10Hp they claim, 'cause if you don't get the results, then no "deal" is a good deal, right? Keep us posted.

The SLP pipe does work...I tested it back to back with the stock pipe on my 660. Same clutching, the SLP pipe gained rpm. It wasn't extensive testing, just wanted to do a quick back to back run.

Yeah I do not expect to see the 10 hp they claim, I've done other stuff as well, I'm hoping to bring HP to 136, last year it saw 132 HP on the dyno, so it should be an achievable goal.

how did you get 132 horse out of a carbed 600 with only a pipe and head mod?

I went with SLP pipes due to my 727 kit but my old man has a BMP 660 kit in his 06 600 Dragon and it rips...
I stays right along side me until I start pulling away on the top end.
The other benefit of BMP's pipe set-up is that it looks stock...though the BMP silencer is much louder than my SLP.
If your looking for performance their both relatively close with the BMP looking stock.
Both companies are incredibly reliable from my perspective...I'm sure that other opinions differ...but in my experience SLP has been incredibly helpful with tuning my sled from clutching to jetting, etc, etc.
My old man has had incredibly good luck with BMP as well and they have been equally helpful.
I guess the only difference here is how much you want to spend.

I went with the BMP pipe mod and can. It woke my sled up and helped maintain 8200 RPM's. Plus is sounds much better and was cheaper than any pipe.
