windham butcher shop has a refrigerated box trailer right at the tagging station in Greenville. They will skin the moose and stick it in the trailer to bring back to their shop.

Definitely going to get your $$$ worth if you go with Windham Butcher shop. I used them when I got my moose in 04. They do a great job and offer a wide variety of cuts. I believe it was around $500 and I got 360 lbs of meat out of a 600lb Bull. As Codyman said, they are setup right at the tagging station in Greenville and immedietely skin it and place it in they're refrigerated truck.

Yep, My cousin and I dropped his moose off there at the Greenville weight station in 04 as well. Got rid of it quickly and enjoyed the rest of the week bird hunting, no need to rush it back and get home early.!! (Wife did NOT care for this arrangement, BUT it worked well) They did a great job, Hamburg, sausage, and all.. and pick up is close by.!

I heard that last year as well but they were up there. Here's the link to the 2007 Moose Hunter's Guide of the Maine IF&W website and on page 24 they list Windham Butcher Shop being in Greenville for the October hunt. Phone number is listed as well so anybody that needs to can call and verify.

Called Windham Butcher shop Yesterday. Said not only are they not going to be in Greenville but they won't even cut it up or grind the hamburg. Bummer. Talked to a guy at Ballard's in Winthrop an he was great. Will let us drop of the hamburg and make us up soem sausage.
We plan on cutting it up and packaging ourselves right at camp. Generator, freezer and 4' Sq tote full of ice but just looking for someone that can do it as a plan B. Say its 90 friggens degrees or something.
