Hey guys my buddy has a 02 700 edge x and wants to do some tuning to it. His goal is to get more off the line speed and doesnt care to much for top end. He kinda wants to keep it around 95-105 top end. As of now he has a studded track i believe 136 studs. It has an SLP single pipe. Otherwise it is stock besides the jetting that was done for the pipe. He is wondering if he should take the slp off and put stock on. he doesnt have a problem with that. Looking to do some gearing, clutching, jetting. Let me know of some good set-ups if you have ne to share. Thanks alot.

Gear to a 41 tooth bottom gear, and jet the mains to 480 for sure. SLP specs are way rich. 10-64 weights, almond/blue primary, almond/red, possibly almond. Stock silver/blue secondary is ok, and a HSP38X or 36X helix. Verify the usual clutch alignment, primary belt to sheave clearance .020" max, engine torque stop tight, no gap. Proper throttle cable adjustment for full throttle, and oil cable adjustment. Just because you do not gear down a lot, does not mean that you won't have low end, especially if gearing causes more track spin. In the sleds I dragged on snow, I rarely geared lower than stock.
