took my head off..... pistons so clean and looked like it was new..... has over 700 miles on it now....

there was a spot about a quarter size in the middle of the piston that was dark... any ideas???

i am running 510 jets with K&N filters

You're definitly too rich on the jetting. 430 main jets should be fine for a 700. I'd ditch the K&N's and put the stock airbox back on.

Waaay too rich. Jet to 430 for sure, especially running K+N's. If you have twin pipes, 450. Needle middle clip. No need to jet that rich.
tech01
I agree that you are to rich, but you probably won't have to lean it up as much as the guys running an airbox. with the pods you will usually be running a little richer jetting than the guys with the stock airbox.

510 MJ Wow1.gif thats PIG rich ! did it ever run good ? when you jet down its going to pick up 300+ RPM and poss need to have some clutching changes to run hard. with a single pipe you want 7900~8000 rpm on a long run .
chevyguy15
it ran good had aslp single on it.... it would beat my friends 800 rev but he would also beat me off and on. i couldnt beat my friends f7 though....

now i have a buddy that has a set of HTG twin pipes and a set of crank shop pipes with the stinger pipes attached... hes giving me a deal so i cant say no

which set should i buy? i went and 460 jets today and gonna put them in.
i cant run a airbix cause its a 04 pro xr 440 with a 700 motor and the airbox dont fit with the rev tank or i would run a airbox.

where did you buy the 719 helix? straight from team? How much was it?

your clutching spec will work great with a single but with twins you need more RPM then the 10-66 will give you . Do you know what RPM those pipe want to run at????????
chevyguy15
yea i bought the team 719 straight from team..... it was on back order and took 3 weeks... i called once and they told me it was on back order and they said there were sorry and shipped the items for free. 719 was like 109 i believe

twin pipes run at 7900-8100 i believe.

what helix should i buy then?
chevyguy15
i ment what weights should i run?

crank show pipes rpms are 8200-8300
HTG pipes rpms i cant find anywhere but i would think there around 8100-8300 since there the trail pipes

Might want to look into installing a shield piece (kinda like an airbox I suppose) that'll help seperate the filters from hot engine air. I'm working on something like this for mine.

wash should be present and about .250-.375 inch circle at each transfer port. here are pics available on this site.
