TheBat
many owners complained about heavy steering on the 06's, the body style completely changed for 07 and the CFI was introduced on the 600's.

Just make sure these updates were done by your dealer...

How do i fix the heavy steering problems

My wife has no problem @ 120lbs with the heavey steering and 6 inch shaper bars, just when from a sitting to very low speeds. It rails the trails and powder.. My 06 rev somewhat rails, but not as good as the fuse and in powder the pilots bite the big one.

Not being cocky but, if you cant handle the steering get some bar bells and start using them. The steering isnt bad I did 3500 miles last year never 1 time that I didnt want to ride because the steering was to hard.I also grinded down the skeg about 3/4 in back of the carbide.Ski was still protected. There a great ride for the $

You should be able to replace the spindles with the 2008 versions if you like or at least update to the 2007 iq spindle. The new spindles were designed to help reduce steering effort.

The 07 skis can also help. The mount position is back and lower and the keel was redesigned.

I have had no problems with my 06 Fusion, it has been a great sled.

I have Holtz spindles on mine, reduced the steering effort and improved handling (not that the handling needs improvement).

I was running Simmons skis, they are a little heavier-steering than a single skeg ski (although they do rail and are great in powder). This year I've got USI X2's to try (my Simmons had 12,000+ miles on them, they were spent, thought I'd try something different), they should reduce steering effort even more.

The fusion models with M-10 have very light steering. Get the slp cold air kits for the belly pan, or get a hot right foot, and a un-necessarily hot belt. Check the wire harness for rubbing down by the recoil area. 600's benefit from a timing bump. Balanced 62g weights work well. If you have the iq rear susp, get yourself some slt skiis. Enjoy.
