I have a problem one of my younger buddys wants me help him rebuild this sled but I have no idea what it's got, if its a two stroke or a four stroke, what size battery it takes, or any thing else all I konw is what I need to do to fix it but I just want to get a basic knowlage of what I am working on the sled is a 1972 Quite flight TS599 Evinrude I think the 599 is the engine size but I have no idea I didtn get the numbers off the sled my self my buddy did. so if you have any info that would be awsome

well snowmobiles old as that are 2 stroke, it should take the same battery as a motorcycle (12volt). send some pics of the seld too

They made some Evinrude's with a Wankel rotary motor (yes rotary). Not sure if that is one or not.

I can't remember the name of the place, but a boat motor dealer in Southfield, Michigan had a bunch of new parts from the Evinrude/Johnson snowmobile line. I think he may have bought all their parts back when they quit making sleds. It's been alot of years since I was there, but who knows.

I know someone that just bought a 72 Evinrude that is in really good condition. It has a rotary motor and reverse.......

My brother had a Evinrude 440 Skimmer when we were kids. The Vintage I think was around a 74 . Nice sled in its day, I beleive they made a 640 cc also.
