What are your opinions on these, im looking at buying one and am curious. I ride 50/50 just about so im sure i would get ice scratchers but would it matter if i was running a 1.5in. lug track at all? and is overheating an issue if i happen to be riding trails all day?

i run scrathers on my F7 and M sleds. THey are cheap and do a good job.

M's are mtn sleds if you are planning on doing any trail riding it's not the sled for you. You'll be better off w/ a x-fire m2c.gif

yea i knew somoene was goin to say that but i dont want 36, i want a 144 or longer

Scratchers work well and are a must even for out West. Two other little cooling secrets for trail friendliness - use a longer snowflap and swap-in a Crossfire rear heat exchanger.

Just get scratchers you will be fine. I run my 153x2.25 on the trails all the time in MN & ND and never had a problem. But you might go through two or three sets of hyfax a year. The only time my over heat light came on was when the back cooler iced over witch can happen but knock the ice off and you will be ok.

is it hard to swap out for a xfire cooler and has anyone home made vents on clutch side

Ive looked into swaping them and should pretty much bolt right on. Also there are alot of companys that make venst for the side panles. Faslane, SLP, Sledjunkys, 2fun4u.

yea thats what i was wondering about, over on snowest, some people make their own so im curious as to how its done and do the vents really make that much of a cooling diff. if i were to run say 50 on trail, and 50 off. The last thing i want to worry about is overheating and a crossfire is out of the option, not to keen on the whole bent tunnel possiblity thing.

i guess i never ran it without the vent so i dont know how much a differnce it makes. As for the tunnel bending there are a few people that make tunnel braces you can get.

yea well aware of that, but if you have a problem and reinforce it, the problem can stil exist. along with the fact they are only 136. I think you can make side vents out of mesh and contact cement.

You can always get a Crossfire and convert it to a 144. Revalve the front shock on the rear suspension and change the spring plus add tunnel braces. You can get a 06-07 Crossfire at a very good price, so it would offset any money you might spend putting on a few of the piece of mind upgrades. Plus you would have a sled with alittle better trails manners then a mountain sled. Its your choice but I don't think you should just not look at a Crossfire because of the tunnel problems some people have had, keep all your options open.

ive been looking for a new sled for about 6 months now, im well aware of the benefits and disadvantages of both on the crossfire but was unaware of the M7.

The tunnel bending is fixed by changing the valving on the front shock. The M and CF tunnels have identical front half same thickness ect. The CF cooler is a direct bolt on to the M. I wouldn't make your own own vents it takes a special mesh to keep the snow out and is quite costly. The fastlane vents are the cheapest I've seen so far and good quality but add the SLP flow rites in the shock well or they are pointless can't let the air out if you don't let it in somewhere.

If you buy an M and plan to trail ride a lot your going to want to add a HRP relocation bracket, re valve the shocks, I'd add a CF cooler and probably gonna want longer CF a arms and try and figure out how to add the sway bar back in. You'd be a lot better of just buying a Cross Fire in my opinion but thats my opinion.

Thanx ND, yea the M7 has everything but the Cooler and vents, i always appreciate the time and opinion of others.
