I've got a S1-IS that I really like. The only thing I wish it had is a light to help the auto-focus in dim conditions and I believe the S3 does.

I have the S2-IS (last model) and it is excellent for a near SLR type.
Did lots of research prior to purchasing it and so far I have not been disappointed.

I've had mine for close to a year now...couldn't be happier with it. The zoom is what convinced me; 12x zoom with 6 MP is generally better than 3x zoom with 8 MP. You wont be dissapointed!

I've got the S3 and love it. The zoom is outstanding and the picture quality is pretty good too. Here's a link from a car show where I used this camera if you want any convincing that the pictures it takes are good.
Car Show picsYou can do better on price than 349. I got mine for 299 at least 6 months ago and since then the S5 has become available.

I have one, and wouldn't buy another. I love the zoom, and the pictures it takes when it feels up to taking a good picture, but I find it very hit and miss on the auto settings. I prefer using my older Canon A60 and will be selling the S3 to get something else.
