Well thanks to 3x the moderator of this site, who hooked us up with the rhode island forum. Just thought we should have our own site because to travel the distance we do for good conditions is hardcore. I live in NP and grew up in Lincoln. I have a camp in topsham VT. and i'm up there every weekend , I leave from my backyard and i'm on the trails. My wife goes every other weekend in the winter she's 1/2 hardcore. Me i'm a snow junkie

i live over near the base in north kingstown and i find plenty of spots to ride .... is it legal? doubt it ... i think there are some trails in rhode island but they probably aren't that great ....

WOW a forum for RI!
You can ride up in Glocester at George Washington Managment area. You would have to register you sled in RI.

Seems like a lot of work for not so much riding but it beats sitting home.

We used to ride around Lincoln Woods, I doubt it's legal now however, my sleds are up north all the time so i don't bother aroud here,

What do you guys use for water in the winter?, and what about heat? How many times a yr you head up there?

Must be tough to ride around your neighborhood being as close to the ocean and all. I know we get the shittiest storms here mostly snow to rain every time .

We truck up the water. We have bottled propane for the lights and cook stove, wood stove to heat and an outhouse out back. It takes it a good day of running the stove wide open to get the cold out of the logs.
I typically go up for one trip in the winter and if I'm lucky once in the summer. But that was before I owned my Attak. (bought it in April). They are up there all the time.

The cabin is on Mooselookmeguntic Lake. We usually head up 2nd or 3rd week in Feb. Hopefully more this year seeing as I have my own sled now. Is your camp over by Chumslicks place?

nope .... he is in the high rent district! ..... i am halfway between main street and stratton off rt. 16 out in the "quiet" area away from all the chaos in town ! We have a nice connector trail from camp to the I.T.S. that we keep groomed up, we get alot of visitors that way because they see the nice smooth trail!

I hate mooseluk in the winter..... seems i always find a slushy spot out there when running across it!

I hear ya! We were there the week of the Valetines day blizzard and were shooting over to Phillips Trust the morning after and it was BAD. 32" if fresh slush in spots. Nobody got stuck but it got the adreniline going. Jehu (its his families cabin) ha an Aunt get hung up in a sluchpocket a few yars back, he said it was like cement up in the skid and heavey as all hell. He said it was really freaky standing in 2' of slush with ice under you in the middle of the lake. No Thanks!

been there done that, so from now on if we are running across...... i go around and stay close to shore! call me a pussy but i hit a wet spot out there about 3 years ago and it just about put me over the bars. It was like hitting a wall.... and i was moving at a good clip. no desire to do that again. that lake never seems to ever get flat... always wind blown, rippled and wet, i also heard there have been several sightings of the lochness monster there with a baby monster also so be careful and keep your pets indoors!

Were out on Toothaker so we have no choice but to run it. This past year was brutal. we would get back to the lake at the end of the day and be like oh crap...............
