My buddy brought over his 1995 Indy 500 Carb to put in my garage to warm up and change the slides. When he got it here, i smelled gas so i opened the hood and noticed gas dripping out of the pipes connection with the Y-Pipe. I took the pipe off and it was filled with gas. Then i took out the plugs and pulled the recoil, and gas just sprayed out of the plug holes and still out of the Y-Pipe. Does anyone have any idea whats going on? He says it ran fine the whole way here (about 2 miles). Its almost like some fuel is going right through the cylinders and out the pipe. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.
Absolutely the floats are stuck open, I remember this happen to me once when I was 16, but it was my car. I parked on a downhill with a full tank, and woke up the next morning to a crankcase full of gas, flooding out everywhere their was a gasket. Be sure to drain all the gas out before running it, it has washed the oil off the cylinder walls, and he might want to get into the habit of turning off the fuel switch, (petcock) after he rides it.
