I recently purchased a mxz 600 and in cool temps it will fire up no prob but when it is above 30 it will not fire. I checked for spark at the plugs and nothing but as soon as the outside temp cools it fires. before anyone makes any smart comments about it being cold in the winter etc.. I want to fix it because I have a feeling as soon as the engine heats up it will quit on me. Has anyone come across this problem and if so what was the fix?

probe the connector just exiting the motor (stator) 3-4 wires in it. look for 30-40 vac when pulling the starter rope at a decnt rip. have a freind doo this and you probe the connector. not all years use the same exact color code but if there is a yello with black tracker and a solid yellow probe those 2 wires. if vsc is good and present then check primary and secondary resistance of coil after sitting in freezer for a few hrs and then in the sun for a few hrs. the resisitance will be differnt due to ambient temp but you need a baseline to referance the doo specs. get yourself a cd off ebay for 10 bucks! it'll help you
