I have a 2000 ZRT 600 that I bought used for my fiance. I amd having trouble with the jetting. If I nail it from an idle, it bogs severely (dies sometimes on the stand). If I apply the throttle evenly, it is fine. Mid to high, cracking it open is fine. Mains are 370s, clips are in the 3rd position, pilot air screws are 1 1/2 turns out. Mains are according to the jetting chart, moving the clips up or down didn't seem to make a difference. Sled is stock except clutch kit. Can anyone give me some advise???

Bogging from a dead stop is usually a low speed jetting problem. They control fuel up to 1/4 throttle position. If it burbles it is rich, if it bogs you are lean. Look at your manual and find the low speed fuel and air screws and check them for their stock adjustment. Once you know where you are, start adjusting untill the bog is gone.

I think you are running way too big of jets. I have a '99 ZRT 600 which is basically the same as a 2000. I am running 340 mains, clip in the second slot from the top. I still have a slight bog on a quick WOT but it goes away quick. I am gonna drop my needle one more clip. (the top notch) and see if this fixes the bog. You can safely run in the second from top clip and 340 mains! Is you altitude 0-5000 feet? Just trying to figure out why you are running 370's??? Those are way fat!! Hope this helps!! Rammer!!

Not a lot of triples can be hit wide open from an idle without a bog. For friendly racing, you shouldn't be hitting wide open from an idle, but revving it up just short of clutch engagement, then hitting it. You might be able to get it a bit better, does it hiccup, or a boooooooggg sound?

ZRT6's have always needed fuel down low, screws at .75-1 turn or run 45 pilots at 1.5-1.75 turns, bump needle jets up to P-4's at the least and bring your mains down to 320's. I've seen guys for years trying to engage at 5000 or more to clutch around what is a lean bog. With the carbs right you can engage that motor stumble-free at 4200.

Rammer you drop your needle like that and you wont go 2 miles and you will burn down !!
340 jets are good to like -10. 59-53 helix with polaris weights and a Black Magic black/purple primary. The thing will fly and backshifting will be unreal !! Mine ran 115 all day any day.

Thanks for all the replies gus. I actually figured it out.. My choke cables were too tight... Loosened them to spec and we are good!!! Rips like it should!! I use the 370 mains because they are what is recommended on the jetting chart for my sled. I know I could go down safely, but it is my fiances sled. She rode a 2001 Z 440 Sno Pro before, so she is very very pleased with the performance. I may end up putting the power breather on it.. We will have to see. Thanks again for the help guys.. Y'all rock!
