hey all, i have a 93 seadoo xp 650... i have been having problems with the vts (trim). when the machine is running the trim only works sometimes, and other times will not work at all. if the machine is powerd up but not running the trim will work fine up and down. i have gone through every wire for the vts system possible and made SURE that everything was ok, and it was. the trim motor functions properly when votage is applied, all the wireing is ok, the switch on the handle bar works fine... the only thing i can think that it might be is the black control box for the vts system that houses the relays... i am at a loss for this problem right now. if anyone has seen or heard of this problem please let me know what yer oppinion is.
thanks

I had the same ski back in the day and the VTS black box did burn up on me.
I dont remember if it was intermittant or not but I could seea little shorch in the resin that seals the box.
Also if thew gas gage stops working it is probably because the magnet in the sending unit fell off and is in the bottom of the gas tank.

Throw the electric crap away, find some hydraulic motorcycle clutch parts and make a clutch-lever type racing trim. This means that you hold the "clutch" in for holeshots and hard corners. Some kits were even sold for the XP's but they aren't cheap. However, they were tested at the top levels of pro racing and they do work.
