Midwesterner thinking about doing my annual week long trip in Colorado. Like varitety, not big on getting stuck alot (too old), trails, meadows and some hills. Greatly prefer to sled from lodging rather than trailering. Any suggestions are welcome.

Trying to find a location that you can ride from the lodge is going to be tough. May want to consider the Snowy Mountain range in Wyoming. You can ride from the lodges there. If going to Colorado, try staying in Kremmling. It is in between Vail Pass and Rabbit Ears. Will have to trailer but can ride both areas from that location. Both areas have trails in addition to boondocking.

You could ride the Grand Mesa area stay at Grand Mesa lodge or Spruce lodge, you can ride right from the lodges there is a good trail system (150-200) groomed miles. Snowy range is also very good I just guess it all depends on who gets the snow.
