We got the technical update book and Ski-doo did a dyno test on the aftermarket cans, only 1 made more hp,it was .04 of gain and was made by MBRP.Most cans lost hp, as much as 4.6 hp was lost on Dynoport Big Bore barker,HPS -1.7 hp,SLP -2HP.So just run the stock can and keep the trails open instead of making the land owners and such bitch about noise.

The cans on for the XP shave some weight--but the sound is only 'slightly' increased...some say they can barely tell a difference. This is due to the inverted stinger in the pipe I believe..

I'll be putting my money into something else for the sled more than likely..

We have cans on order from rumble pack, SLP, Dynoport, and MBRP. Hope to have some in by October.

yEAH,Slow those doos down. They looked pretty quick in stock form.

What I seen were 2 test by BRP. One was high elevation and one was low. I wish I could remember where I read it. HPS made power at higher elevations but lost at low. MBRP made power at low elevation and lost at high. All the manufactures that claim big power gains, you need to ask them what elevation they were tested at. Chances are they make a lot more power at higher elevations than low. This is the # they claim. Then flatlanders buy the pipe and say what a joke. You can make a can/pipe to make power at low elevations or you can build one for high elevation. I dont think you can make an efficient one for low and high. Just my opinion.

You will lose back pressure from any of the aftermarket canister companies wich will result a lost of performance.......they are all noise and no go......if you want to try to beat your buddies Arcticat F7 or F1000 you are gonna have to think of better ways than a can no.gif

Well, if you can't beat the cat's, at least on a Ski-Doo you are guaranteed to look better than the cat's, and 1 out of 2 ain't bad sometimes!
Ronald
Here is one way of beating the F7s bigun2.gif LOL. yelrotflmao.gif Just kidding. Those F7s are fast, I'll agree, but it kind of helps when you have all sorts of shit to make them fast while other brands don't have a ton 'o' shit to make 'em go faster. Arctic Cat needs that stuff to compete, that's why they have all the stuff in the world to go faster. LOL. stirthepot.gif

I agree at what you are saying about land owners becoming annoyed at snowmobile sound levels, but you have to understand that we all do not ride in the mid to eastern United States. I ride primarily in Utah, and my land owner would be the Bureau of Land Management (Government) and I dont believe I have run into more than a couple of private land owners, and they bought the land for the purpose of snowmobiling (pipes are music to their ears). We all enjoy a good testosterone fest while we climb tower mountain and anyone within earshot is salivating over the bark of a piped 2-stroke. So I just want to say that there are those of us that are able to run a good quality header, pipe and can that is slightly louder than stock (and most of the newer models of exhaust upgrades are only slightly to moderately louder) and will never have an adverse affect other than a little hearing damage, (helps out when the wife is nagging at you about too much snowmobiling). So there is a market, and I hope that exhaust manufactures maintain creating good quality products for those of us that are able to use them. Other than that, let it snow!!!!

sorry bud. but the xp is already eating up the f7 and f1000. you better go buy a yamaha and have a reason to be slow!

does anyone have any info on the "inverted stinger" is it basically to to lower the decibels alittle bit for noise or does it serve any other purpose since isn't this years 800 R motor running 200 rpm higher?

We will have J&T silencers for the new XP at the Hastings Michigan show this weekend I will also have a video clip on the website next week
FASTJIME
I work at Bmp and our muffler weighs 6-7 pounds has a little more grunty sound to it. Doesnt loose any performance. They are 249.00 and are available.Any ? call or email

This might be the first sled that retains a fully stock exh system. Its already light, and the power is right. Why waste $250? Doo has a rep for a decent stock pipe and this one is designed to work with the stock cansiter.

For the most part we ride & radar tets products whenver possible, if not ourselves through the testing of our clients. The products we promote and support are 'proven' performance enhancing products in one why or another, whether they improve HP, agility, ride quality or traction. We will not promote products that rob HP or lessen a sleds over-all owners enjoyment. As far as the cannister/silencers go, the silencers/cannisters you will find on our site will improve mph and provide weight savings, some more substancial than others. Physically I am a lighter rider and the addition of a light weight cannister/silencer which lightens up a sled by up to 12lbs for myself was very noticeable as an improvement to the sleds handling and manouverabilty in the trail

we do not sell MBRP sled exhaust products , Truck Diesel exhaust yes and it's excellent!

I'm not buying this. Hps just started building the can for the 800XP. The can in the test had to be a 2003-2007 can. They didnt have one made for the XP at the time this took place. I bet all these cans in the test were not specifically designed for the XP.

i seen the same book myself at my dealership. thats whats they're claiming.

Straightline Performance has one..no hp gains ( typical ) but weight loss..they also have a nice pipe for it.

As far as saying the SPI XP can's do not provide any additional HP, you might want to read the info in this link provided

http://www.dootalk.com:80/forums/index.php...165840&st=0

If a product isn't robbing HP, yet yeilding other positive benifits ie - weight savings then it's a win win situation. With the XP's power to weight ratio already being outstanding, adding a lightweight 'quality' silencer/muffler is an extra bonus.

the SPI can's are in stock and shipping nationwide daily.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't knocking their product..they have nice stuff...just going by what Jason said at his booth..my buddy was interested in buying an exhaust from him and he told us no hp gain on the can...but you've got a good point...if you lose weight but no hp's then it's gotta be good...as long as it's not loud! While I've got you here..I want to buy a BMP stealth pipe from you...for my F7...price is right...whats the shipping fee...in Ontario?
