That was my old SRX, Traded it in at Weavers 2 years ago and they couldnt sell it so they were racing it, That was Mike Weavers girlfriend who got dismounted on it, I got that sled from Weavers 3 years ago, Motor was built by HTG and some other work was done to it(pipes, clutched, picked etc.), I had ALOT of problems with it fouling out plugs, so they had the carbs off of it 3-4 times, Then I figured out one night if I unhooked the headlight it would run like a champ, So they put a bunch of new parts on it and it kept doing it, So I traded back in after a wasted season, Turns out when they(previous owner) put the motor back in the sled they pinched the wire for the Highbeam in the motormount and thats what was causing all the problems, Most of the time it ran like sh*t but when it was runnin' good god damn was it fast, Nothing sounds as good as a piped yamaha triple screaming down a track or across a lake.
Gary- I couldnt remeber the speeds on that rx-1 but I remeber it was FAST

To funny,im 99% positive that was my buddies 2000 srx.He traded it in at weavers for a four wheeler about 3-4 years ago.Was it stock when you bought it?His was stock, blue windshield with white fear this stickers on the sides.

Jul 19 2007, 03:50 PM
It had already been built when I got it, They told me a guy bought it rode it for a week blew up the motor, he wanted it faster so Bob sent him to HTG, Then he traded it back in because it was ......to fast for around here. So I was the third owner even though the 2nd owner only had it long enough to pour a bunch of $$$$ in it. But to answer your question yeah it sounds like his, I will see if I can find some pictures of it, Definitley had the blue windshield with the fear this stickers. I kinds miss it.

YES WE WERE KICKED OUT FOR CHISELS THERE TWO YEARS IN A ROW. FIRST WITH MY SRX AND LAST YEAR WITH VMAX 800. THIS YEAR WE DID SET-UP SRX FOR THEIR LEGAL TRAIL CLASSES WHICH ALLOW MEGA-BITES ONLY. ALSO WE DID SEE THAT GIRL BARREL ROLE OFF THAT SRX LASY YEAR, THAT WAS INDEED THE SRX FROM WEAVERS WITH THE FEAR THIS STICKERS ON WINDSHIELD. I SEEN THAT SLED AT BOB,s THAT SUMMER. I ALSO REMEBER CONDITIONS WERE VERY MUDDY LAST YEAR AND HEARD THEY HAVE CHANGED DATE OF THIS RACE TO AVOID POOR WEATHER. I DO KNOW THIS RACE USES STRICT COSDRA RULES. NOW HERE ARE AFEW MORE RACES FOR YOU GUYS TOO WATCH FOR. HEARD SENECA FALL SUPER TRACK IS HAVE IN A ALL AMATEUR TRAIL STOCK EVENT. ALSO THE DUCKS GAME CLUB IN PENN YAN DOSE TWO ALL - OUTLAW SHOOTOUTS. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER TRACK. ALSO DON,T FORGET JACOBEYS IN HILTON NY IN NOVEMBER . HUGE OUTLAW EVENT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

We hope for the best and that Mother Nature will smile upon us. we moved it back a week this year, we we're going to do that last year, but Buck's was on that date.

I hear the Apex will have to move out of the 600 class this year, since they have 140hp. Will they be running in a 700 class to make way for the new Nytro to run in the 600 class. Even the published 130 hp Nytro (which there are hints of having more hp than 130) will have more hp than any other MFG 600 class sleds. If you want to look at power to weight ratios, forget it. I already did the math and with a lite weight driver on the 4-stroke, he will have a better power to weight ratio. If a MFG chooses to make their 140hp sled using a 4-stroke that is their decision, but that doesn't mean the rules should be bent so a 140hp machine should race in a 120hp class! No they don't fit the cc mold, but they could fit hp vs. hp with the 700's. If a two stroke mfg decided to run twin pipes and aftermarket reeds, those sleds would have to move into a modified class, even though the MFG produced it that way. I realize the motocross world is changing over, but BRP, AC, and Polaris seems to be holding on to the 2-stroke. Where are you going to put the Yamaha's Bill D.?

Bill doesn't set the rules, the committee does and we may consider changing the guidelines-especially since Hank is on the committee.
Meeting went well, though short on people. Next one is on the 13th. We are moving along, selling ads and such. The track seems to be in good shape, though not much growing in the starting line area. I'm sure by the end of September there will be some and it'll get ripped off during T&T. BTW, each sled registered to race will receive 2 T&T tickets for that morning. We don't have the times set yet, but likely from 8:30 - 10:30 or so.
We're hoping Mother Nature will be kind, but heading into fall, you never know.

I'm just stirring the pot a little with Gary riding one of these beast now! However, just because COSDRA puts them in the 600 class doesn't make it correct. Like I said put a lightweight guy on the Apex and you have a much better power to weight ratio. Do the math yourself. I took the dry weights from the MFG Specs + 20 lbs (3 gal gas, oil) + 150lb driver divided by the listed HP. Stock MXZ 600 HO from DynoTech testing @ 118hp, Apex listed hp class from the website of 150, New Nytro from the Yamaha website @ 130. The power to weight is MXZ 600 HO = .180hp/lb, Nytro FX =.188 hp/lb, Apex RTX = .207 hp/lb. Compare these to the notorious F7 @ .220 hp/lb and the Apex falls in between the 600 and 700 power to weigth ratios. As you can obviously see the Nytro is more in-line with the 600 class sleds than the Apex.
One more thing, if you think the Apex should still run in the 600 class, did you ever run one in the snow against a 600? On my radar I clocked the Apex top end at 112mph, the mxz 600 ho @ 105mph. They don't even compare on the snow!

YOU GUYS REALLY ARE FUNNY POINTING AT THE APPEX WHEN THE F7 CAN MAKE CHANGES THAT PROBLEY CAN GROSS CLOSE TO 160 hp IN DYNO TESTING FROM A STOCK 140 AND STILL BE ALLOWED IN STOCK CLASSES.
