Last week I noticed that the engine was cutting out when WOT above 60-80. Anything below that and not at WOT, runs strong. It had 4800 miles on it with no problems except a snaped speedo cable at 4700 miles. Had the original belt in there and was time for a new one thinking that might be the problem anyway.

Well guess it wasnt as its still doing it with 200miles on the new belt and 5000 on the machine. Finally got it on the lake to see if it was still cutting out...It is.

The lake was good near the edge for about a 1/4 mile then glare ice with snow patches.
On gps with WOT it will cut out around 65mph slow down a bit then speed up then cut out again.
With the the throttle a 1/4 inch less then WOT I got it up to 76mph on GPS by then I had to let off b/c glare ice and I dont have any studs trau14.gif

Any thoughts?

Mine popped and bogged and backfired for a while and a buddy told me to disconnect the throttle safety switch. It would also cut out at WOT, not a good feeling. I did that and problem solved. Try it and see what happens.

same thing with mine....also check all wiring for chafing. my main wiring harness was chaffed and casued lots of little gremlins.....I think the chafing was due to an accident I was in on the hiway while towing my sled...but maybe not...not a big deal anyways....

when you guys are disconnecting thes throttle switches, aren't you also disabling the emergency stop switch also, just curious, i am having the same problems.

If you pull the plug apart and bend it a little and just plug the two outside poles in the E-stop still works

Well disconnected the throttle safety switch...I think the brown, black and purple one?

Still doing the samething.

It doesnt like to be WOT over 8000-8400rpm
but will raise up to 8700-8800 sometimes with the throttle held back alittle from WOT.
