I just put an egt thing on my 800 pro x so I can tune it in a little better. What is a good temp when it is idling, half throttle, and wide open. also what is the burn down temp?

at idle you will see around 400*f witch means nothing ....... and at cruise speed you should see around 1150*f and any thing above 1250*f your in danger of a melt down! I have the needle on my sled set up slighty lean to get good fuel economy . It takes about 3~4 seconds for EGT to stop raiseing so dont think that I didnt see any thing above 1250 so why did I Burn it down! I have noticed on long hills 10~15 seconds at 1/4 throttle the egt will stop raiseing and hold steady... on a long run on a lake I have never seen 1200*f but I also have it jetted 1 size larger then I need figureing some day its going to be colder and still be safe! One more thing your EGT probe should be about 100 mm from the piston! it will cool off if your more then 100mm (4")!
