You guys may have already seen these but here are a few more '07 IQ's available.

IQ's on Ebay

Just add the Carls Cycle 600 or 660 Kit that bolts onto the 440 bottom end, a big tank and a few other goodies and you have a sled that will walk all over an '08 600rr for less than $8000. Maybe much less than $8000 if you can get one of these IQ's for a good price.

Just going by the seller of the auction it's possible these sleds were ridden by the Cycle Worx team of Danny Poirier, Tyler Sedlmeier and Adam Sedlmeier. Check them out at Cycle Worx. Looking at the WPSA website it looks like these guys all raced about 3 Nationals and did fairly decent. The Sedlmeier Boys did real well finishing at the top of the list for those Semi Pro racers who only raced 3 races.

If I were looking for an '07 IQ this would definately be one place to check out. Even if it's a far drive for some it can't cost more than $300 or so in fuel to go get one or more of these sleds.

For what it's worth, IMO the '07 IQ racer is worth at least $1000 more than an '06 in the same condition, especially if you are going to Trail Convert it.

I have seen the 660 kits, but I was concerned with the bottom end holding up. What are you opinions on this kit for reliability. Why do you feel the 07's are worth so much more than the 06's? I really was not looking for a 07 but I guess I got lucky. Sorry I don't mean to got so far off topic here!

IMO the 440 motors will be great candidates for the Carl Cycle big bore kits. Most race sleds have very few miles on them, I would say maybe comparible to 400 or less.

If you can get a sled that is in decent shape with the equivalent of 400 miles on it you have yourself a pretty good starting point for a real fun buggy.

There are a number of reasons the '07 is a better candidate for a trail sled than the '06.

The Bulkhead is better with MUCH stronger, better designed A-Arm mounting tabs.

The Tunnel is better because it needs no modification to install a 15" wide track.

The A-Arms are longer, wider and stronger.

The Spindles are already cut down for better trail manners.

The Front Bumper is stronger and all square tubing.

The W/E Shocks are better (debateable for sure) but will require a new valve schedule for the trail.

The Seat is better with a much improved front attachment point.

The Chain and Gears are 13 wide so there are more gear ratios available and they dont rub on the Chaincase cover nearly as bad as the '06.

All the parts of the 440 motor that you will likely sell will be worth just a little more because it's an '07. Jugs, Carbs, Head, CDI, EV's, etc.etc. all compatible with '05 and newer 440's.

It's 1 year newer so that in itself has to be worth $500 if you decide to sell it down the road.

IMO the '07 is worth at least $1000 more than an '06 in the same shape. They are to me anyway.

They must have just posted those, i've been checking ebay everyday. Tom, could you elaborate a little about why an '07 would be worth the extra money to convert? Also, do these reasons carry over to sleds that will be built for off-trail?

Just bought and '06 440. Now the work begins.
