Anyone gonna spend any time at the fairs this year? I plan on it, but I need some help. I'd love to hear from people local to each county fair, recommending something. Now don't start in with the "my fair has the best demo derby" or "my fair is the best just 'cause".

Give me some recommendations. I'd love to find a fair where I can do some tailgaiting for the lawn tractor pulls. But I don't want the super modified, twin scroll turbo, 300ft lawnmower pulls - I want to go watch the neighborhood boys pull with the same machine they mow with. I think I heard Orleans has some good ones?

Any one else want to recommend something?

Its not VT, but the Washington county Fair in NY has the best "off the field' tractor pulls, IMO.

Hey weatherman,
how about you tell us when we will have a good day with no storms

If you live in BF : Champlain Valley Fair is a good trip we went last year for keith urban concert
have not been to Rutland Fair in years but it usually draws a big crowd. Go on line and check
out fair schedules And if Addidson Fair and Field Days hasn't already happened they are more
of a ag fair and big in size too..

We always take labor day week for vacation at camp and the Lancaster NH fair runs that week. I know its not vermont but it comprizes of Coos county NH, Esssex county VT and parts of maine. Good take, all the new toys are their and and plenty of locals comin down from the hills to pull, Tractors, horses, oxin and even the big rigs.

I agree. This is exactly what I was looking for. I usually make a day or two for this one. Did you see the "off the street" truck pulls a couple years ago when the dude with the brand new $40,000 truck held the throttle right to the floor as the truck started hopping? He owned a brand new $40,000 truck with a broken spring and axle. Quality entertainment right there.

I've never been to Champlain fair, but they always seem to have the big concert names. My wife wants to go, but I always avoided it. Maybe I should give it a chance.

Addison County might be my favorite so far. We have a friend that will be in the tractor pulls this year with our old 1466. We'll be at that one this summer. Seems like Orleans might be a good one to hit. Lawnmower pulls AND 4-wheeler pulls. That sounds fun to me.

I might be a bit jaded as I live just a mile from the Champlain Valley Fair. IT SUCKS!

Yes they have some bigger name music acts, so if you get a ticket for those that has the admission price included....it might be worth one night.

There are a ton of over priced food stands, a grezzy midway, and so so other exhibits.

I went last year after not going for a few years, and realized why I'd been avoiding it.

Moose Festival in Caanan is nice. Caledonia County Fair is good as well.
