Go to Cochrane, Timmins, Kap, Hearst, anywhere up north, the farther the better.

Come to the west coast of Newfoundland, you'll love it. Contact some of the guys from Lewis Hillbillies and for sure they can help you out with info on lodgings and guides, etc.

How far do you want to travel? Wawa is close and you can doo a 4 day loop from there. You can even ride across the boarder on your sled if you contact them ahead of time.

This site is a great source for a visitor to Ontario.

http://www.snowmobileinontario.com/

Ontario provides diverse terrain and trails. If you are looking for more wide open high speed trails then further north in the Cochrane area is great - as mentioned.

If you are more interested in tighter trails then the Near North, Muskoka, Parry Sound regions are good choice. The RAP tour "Round Algonquin Park" trip would be a consideration in this area.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy Ontario.

Ottawa has some of the best snowmobiling in the world minutes from Parliament Hill, go to North bay in 2 days or less, Quebec is right there, muskoka in 2 days. don't diss it til you try it...
Spiderman
Ottawa Valley has great snowmobiling, in and around the city is spotty at best....

lots of traffic in Central ON

IMO Wawa/Hearst/Kap/Cochrane/Timmins

Wawa would be the closest to Michigan

I hear the Bruce Penisula is quite nice. Anything From Georgian Bay and North is good.

Northern Quebec is great I hear as well - but a bit of a hike from Michigan.

If you like great scenery and very little traffic on the trails, check out www.nossa.ca . About a 4-5 hour drive from the border in the Sault will get you here.

are you on fucking crack? Ottawa valley sledding sucks! Very little snow, billiard table flat, farmers fields and ditches. Need I go on?

I'd say either Northern Ontario or Quebec would be the best destinations. Central Ontarfio has nice sledding, but it's too crowded for my liking.

lol okay...

I would rather ride in northern ontario and quebec as well, but...

I've been as far as pembrooke and I have a place in haliburton/muskoka. I prefer riding east than west, but you are correct the scenery is nicer in central ontario.

in terms of snow.. last year was an exception, I have found excellent snow conditions in the valley, combined with superior grooming and low traffic. some of the trails are incredible fire access road you can rip down, or old rail beds. I love trails like that.

the trails are great IMO and a run I would love to do, however flat is from pembrooke to North Bay along the river, or vis versa.

not to mention you are minutes from the quebec border...

as soon as you step foot in Quebec it's a different story - more snow, more hilly terrain, better trails, and better scenery. Pembroke has great trails, but that's almost 2 hours away. I'd say Renfrew is the border line for good trails close to Ottawa. Anything closer to Ottawa is shit.
Slider
depends on were in Michigan he is coming from and how far he wants to travel....

If entering from the Soo the north in Ontario ( Cochrane,Timmins etc...or Wawa area ) as suggested would be the best bet ,,,,,,or Muskoka /Haliburton RAP tour etc on week days if travel is an issue and entering from Port Huron....

Wawa, Dubrei, Hornypayne, White River, Chapleau. THE best ridin in Ontario period. i have ridden all over including the rockies in Wyoming. Wawa offers it all. you want tight twisties, long straights, lakes, scenery, ditch bangin, POWDER, hospitality, and some of the BEST power line ridin (next to cochrane) in Ontario, Wawa has it. ya i know, i live here and i am a bit biased but its the TRUTH. if your interested get a hold of me (pm me) and i will give you some inside scoops of the best ridin in the area as well as eats and places to stay and if i end up keepin the sled i can show ya round....thats if ya can keep up! lol.......and that goes for any hcser lookin at wawa area....always willing to help out fellow riders!
ps....do not go to Ottawa for ridin. shit i nearly spit out the water i was drinking when i read that. best friend is from ottawa valley now resides in wawa......nuff said.

If your thinking about Quebec this is a good site to plan from. http://www.zenwaiter.com/ the guy who runs it talks with all the motel owner and is a super nice guy. If your planning an early trip he will let you now where the snow is and recommend a safe place for you to stay.
