Anyone have preference of either? I see that POO is pushing SLP now. Looking for something to put on my 07 600 CFI Switcher.
redneck_rider
How loud do you want it ? I have slp can on my sled and it aint very loud but sounds really good. If you looking to make your sled loud go with mbrp they have differnt versions like standard, trail, and race. Of course race being the loudest.
rollboy
I also have the slp on mine and would have to agree with redneck on everything but just remember before you go too loud that some places you can get a ticket for loud pipes so check the local stuff unless you just want to be a rebal and take your chances ylsuper.gif

Nope, don't want to be a rebel; just want to enjoy the sound of a good BRAAPER. I had a MBRP on my last sled, just wondering what others were using or what their preferrences were. Anyone know why Polaris is pushing SLP?

SLP has a good name in the aftermarket business and their stuff is good quality. Not to say MBRP's isn't, but for the most part SLP is where it's at for aftermarket Polaris stuff.
SnoPro'd
MBRP will be the loudest, SLP is a more rumbly lower DB sound. Still a good sound at that. I have herd alot of people's MBRP's blowing out after one season and being extremly loud, and losing even more performance. My vote would be the SLP, or spen a little extra and get the SLP pipe and Silencer combo and gain some HP and have a great sound!
Dragon Man
I put a pipe and silencer kit on my 06 dragon and am happy with the gains. I will warn you that it is tight getting everything under the hood with out it hitting on something. I can be done with a little messing around. I would also think about the air horn kit and hot air kits from slp as well to get the most out of your pipe system.
Spiderman
The question is, how is it with the CFI?, I see nobody who responded as of yet has one, i'm curious too, considering the BMP pipe mod or a SLP pipe and can combo, not sure which way to go.
PolarisJim
I have the SLP pipe and can on my 07 Dragon, not much louder than stock but it sounds
awesome!!!Really happy with the SLP,looks nice works great!!
waveraven
I have just the SLP can on my CFI and the performance gain is huge ...... just kidding I didn't notice any gain or loss but it sounds nice and it's lighter though for sure.

I thinking about putting the SLP pipe on also, but I really want a 700 so I'm unsure what I'm gonna do ?
Spiderman
thanks Wave, i've still got a couple of months to decide what i'm going to do. Might swap the ski's out for tires....
Snowgov
Thanks guys for your input. I appreciate it. I've had some of my local buddies also suggest the SLP can. Anyone ever buy one of the scratch and dent units from SLP?
Spiderman
If you're buying pipes, I'd steer clear of any of them with a "dent" in them.....not good

Wave, if you jump into a 700, pm me about your can for the 600. I'm riding my 600 at least this upcoming winter, then hopefully swapping to an 800
shortstop20
If it's just little dents it won't hurt one bit. If it's a big dent though, I'd stay clear. I don't remember who but somebody did a dyno run on a pipe with some small dents and a good pipe and it made virtually no difference. The only way to see the difference was on the dyno(1-2 hp). Seat of the pants there was no difference.

I would suggest spending the extra coin and buying the pipe and silencer. You may want some air intake upgrades though too, I'm not sure I'm not up on the IQ 600's much.
Top Gun
If the scratch & dent stuff is cheap enough the dents can be pulled with a uni-spotter. It spot welds pulling studs on the pipe (in the dent of course) and then you use a slide hammer to gently massage the dent out.
shortstop20
Yep, just like they use on cars. Works good.
PolarisNut
The newer SLP cans for the late model sleds are very quiet. They have a nice sound to them at WOT, but are not obnoxious. They are actually quieter than the stock late 90's Polaris twins.
ProX700man
ive bought slp scratch and dent stuff before. has always looked like brand new for me. normally just minor scratches from being dropped around, not big dents like it sounds... just a slight flaw in the pipe which in no way affects performance

I have heard of alot of talk on a Bikeman perforance pipe mod that works better than SLP. I does not loose wheight through. I also know a lot of guy that have did extensive clutch testing. I have done this. I did see 106 on a guys tattle tale speedo. My 06 never broke 100.

hey i have an superlite performance muffler and is it ever great its lighter then slp sounds probably louder im guess as its a screamer. the performance well i just took it on the grass and it seemed to rev at lowere rpm when warming up the track , a 100mph free spinning track my rpm's were only 6250 compared to before it was like 7250 at leats . power seems better trow out the entire power band range.
Hommie31
i have a complete dynaport kit on mine its the big volume kit not to loud and can definetly feel the power dif love it
