great board!!
I like LF bindings, the Alpha's are the best value in the biz. stay away from obrien bindings IMO, unless they're high end. Hyperlite Era's are great too, more advanced and more $$$.
spend some decent loot on good bindings or you'll be wishing you did in a year..

There an Ok binding they have mediocre support. I had them before I got my ultras and they are so much better now I have Ronix Cells and they are absolutely amazing.

take them to the pros for a day and they will learn the right way. getting up first time and trying a back roll will get you hurt
many think they can do spins (360s) and end up with busted ankles... a big reason is because the bindings dont fit right and they didn't learn to land properly...

that doesn't make sense...you either have a 3stage rocker, or a continuous...a 3stage rocker flattens out in the center whereas a continuous rocker has a continuous curve to it...
as for bindings, i have some LF Transits that are awesome but i just got some new Obrien Xenon's which are absolutely amazing!...and they're not too expensive

it does too make sense, they make "hybrids" so they arn't only good for one thing
justindacey
Jul 25 2007, 10:40 AM
read up on a "hybrid" rocker...it's the same as a continuous rocker...it was just a sales ploy to have something different...

yep.
its theoretically impossible to have a 3 stage and a continuous rocker in one.
the idea of a 3 stage is that they have a little kick up at the tip and tail. continuous has no kick, just a "continuous" edge.
however there are some boards that have a 3 stage under foot and a continuous edge, meaning the rocker is different on the bottom of the board from the edge. can't remember what boards though or if they make them anymore.
i always said continuous were for beginners or experts, but most riders can use as much assistance to pop that a 3 stage gives you and with the learning curve so short a 3 stage is probably the way to go. besides usually only the beginner and pro models offer continuous rockers..

hmm...ic i can't remember what site i read 'bout the hybrids off of but then i was also reading about them working on making a board that has two types of edges for a smoother ride and better speed...somethin like that
justindacey
Jul 30 2007, 11:01 AM
it's basically all rider preference...i've ridden all kinds of boards and I really prefer the pop from a 3stage rocker over a continuous. The continuous boards tend to be much faster and the landings are alot softer though. My new PS3 has a 3stage rocker but has a v in the center to make the landings alot softer.

I must have missed an "OR" oops. But yes I know the difference between a 3 stage and a continuous rocker.

3-stage is for my height in the pop while continous is for more distance

That's an awesome setup! Obrien, liquid force and hyperlite are now all owned by the same company. Price out something comparable in LF or hyperlite then price out the obrien stuff, it's like half the price! Quality wise, I would say obrien's bindings this year are probably the best out there and that Cartel is a really fun board to ride.
