jkd37
Maybe its a testing machine for a motorcycle.
beardog
how much do u think the insurance will be on the new 950 tcat ?
trailhawk100
I have the dealer brochure on it, nuts I say, I gotta have one if I win the lottery , can't justify 10 grand on a wheeler

My 700 is bad enough...400 a year. Can't imagine what the Tcat would be.

If I had any idea they were coming out with this I would've been the first to have my name on the list at JD's before I bought mine. Guess I should've waited a month lol.

Thundercat is a snowmobile..not a 4x4 quad. And why doesn't cat build a 450 race quad?? cause they don't know how, that's why LoL

i think that this quad is truly as waste. its too heavy and bulky to have any fun on which means the only thing its good for is work and its too big for that

agree for the most part but I think what AC is trying to capture is two things with the 9 1/2 , one the mudders and two the reputation of having the biggest out there. that gives them good popularity. That's why they called it the T-Cat . IMO grinning-smiley-023.gif

......and the XP is a personal watercraft......and the Renegade is a snowmobile......what's your point?
FIREBALL 440
The thing can only tow 1050 lbs. Seems a little on the low side to me........

We pull a 17' fiberglass speedboat with a 140 suzuki on it with a little 300 arctic cat 4x4. T-cat will easily pull that, the boat and anything else you hook it to if you do it properly. 1050 is only a rating. Not a fact!
FIREBALL 440
I was gonna say....

Polaris quads come with a 1500 lb tow capacity.

I think the thundercat was a legendary snowmobile.. I just don't see the relationship between 4 wheelers and sleds and using that name on a wheeler.. they could have easily put the t-cat name on that new f1000..to me that would of made more sense.

716 lbs to be exact from Cats spec sheet! Not a Polaris or any other brand so you know it will be reliable!

Do you think Arctic Cat thought about state laws? In MN class 1 ATVs can't be over 799cc for trail riding.

i think this ATV is gonna be TOP OF THE LINE 4X4 ATV

you would think that minnesota laws would be the first thing they thought about considering they are right here in thief river falls, mn. whats the difference between class 1 and other?
XJ1978
This is the first ATV Cat has built completely on there own. The motor is a 950 CC and it will be scary fast. The towing capicity is what it is because of the braking system. The brakes on any wheeler don't work to well when you got 1500+ pounds pushing you forward when you are trying to stop. I have heard that it is a limited build and the dealers that ordered one only get one each. Should be interesting to see what MN does about the law!
skidoo33
Price is $10,500! These things are getting very expensive. Same with sleds.

i work at the arctic-cat dealer up here in alaska we jsut had the alaska rep come in the shop today. They were sayin september is when we get one... yes only one.. at are dealer . We have some 30in 12wide tires on a 700 efi and it rips it up good.. i cant wait to get my hands on the 1000. He had a little video from the big promo show down in vegas and they lined up a 700 raptor and the thundercat.... The thunder cat out ran the raptor 700.. pretty impressive for such a massive quad..

agreed sad they have not made a 450 racer as Cats heritage has been being #1 in terrain racing

Got to agree with ZL5600

The old Yamaha 350 4x2 we had at the farm pulled very heavy loads trailers/wagons

Agreed Tcat should have stayed with sleds

This should show where AC has there future priorities IMO

Spyder 990 Vtwin seems logical or the fact that the v800 in the Outy shares the same design as the V1000 and V1300 in BRP sleds in Europe

I pull my 18' Lund Pro V with my 500 TBX, the boat has a 150 Opti, 15hp kicker, and full dash, the boat and trailer have to be about 3,500 lbs.

In ugly looks and ability to break by driving within 50 feet of a rock because of the no protection on the can-am. But you can still purchase it for probably more money than the T-cat after you purchase all of the skid plates to keep you from totaling it out by looking at it.
skidoo33
I dont get how you can say they are ugly i think all the big companies ATV's pretty much look the same. Also i own a can am 800 and i dont have the skids and my frame is perfectly fine. Unless you do serious rock crawling the frame is fine.

Ugly just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. but exactly on the frame thing. dont try to follow the cat cause you will trash the can am pretty quick.
skidoo33
Dont worry the cats always follow me. They have a problem with keeping up on a rough trail. Maybe its because they are under powered or because the ride is so rough they are bouncing all over the place.

Or maybe cause they want to keep track of you incase you break down or break your frame and need assistance! Rough ride would not be on the cats so I have to be right the first statement!
skidoo33
Have you ever rode the two. The cat has a far rougher ride. The frame is not an issue unless you rock crawl. I dont rock crawl so i have no need for skids. I have not had any problems with trail riding with my frame.

I have, i wouldn't call it a far rougher ride. a little rougher yes, but if the one you rode was far rougher then the shocks werent adjusted right for you.

ATV - 800cc or less / The new Thundercat will need to be registered as a OHV (off highway vehicle) - which may or maynot limit it to certain trails or areas, legally that is.

Still, it's not a bad idea to get some. The one time you may need them, you wont have them and it'll be too late.

Actually only own a 500 and the closest thing I have ever seen to a can am in our area is the old deere branded ones and they dont make them anymore so that tells me something. Any questions on what a good atv is? Not a can am I can be quoted by the way.

You have been quoted.

You must know all about them breaking then, considering you've never even seen one.

I am all knowing when it comes to atv's and sleds and that BRP makes junk!
FIREBALL 440
That's funny, cause they make the best personal watercraft & 2 stroke outboards. It's no secret though about their sled engines reliability - or lack of. I have also heard reports of outlanders breaking, sportsmans have a bad rap too - but I only know 1 person that had a bad one.

Considering they are on the old Quest Chassis with a solid axle and much more expensive than BRP is probably why they didn't sell. Nothing could be further from the outlander chassis today. Have you read the reviews and awards for the Can-Am outlanders or are you so tired of being beaten you make stuff up to make your brand seem better ?

I'll agree that Cats make a decent ATV but they are not in the same league as Can-Am, even with the T-Cat.
