Miles and miles and more miles of trails up there. I'd give a holler to Scott at Spruce Meadow Cabins. Helluva good guy with great cabin rates who will go out of his way to make sure you have the best ATV/snowmobile experience. He knows the trail system inside and out

Put it this way .. I bought wifey a new sled this past February that wasn't stickered. Lets just say I don't have a friggin' clue where that goddam warden was hiding but I've never been so suprised in all my life when he patted me on the shoulder. He at least let me slide that time in Jackman because the sled was just bought and I was riding it on a Sunday. I pleaded ignorant to not knowing there was a couple places I could have registered it on the way up.
Long story short: Register what you ride. It keeps a hefty fine from leaving your wallet and the money goes towards maintaining the kick-ass trail system you'll be enjoying

I'd definately register the ATV to be safe. Registered, you'll never see a warden, unregistered, there will probably be a dozen here. (exaggerating, of course) The warden's up here are real decent, but laws are laws.
We have about 300 miles currently with a bit of everything to ride. Lots of wildlife and very scenic. Many of the trails are remote, so plan accordingly (extra fuel if you ride a gas hog). We have new maps for this year (I can send you some if you'd like) As mentioned, I have cabins up here that we rent and you can leave right from your cabin and hit the trails. Check out www.sprucemeadowcabins.com for info, and don't hesitate to call or email with any questions you might have.

Moosehead Lake in Greenville Maine is another place to check out. The trails are endless, the winter carnival has a ton of events including car races on the ice. The lake itself is 40 miles long and has a trail all the way around it, called the Moosehead trail. There are a lot of activities and if you like to ski, you can ride your sled right to the ski area.

I have a quad but my dad doesn't, does powersports or some other place in jackman rent out atv's (utility or sport he doesnt care). We want to go for a trip with a few friends but he wouldnt use an atv nearly enough to buy one. If not is there like a place in rangley or somewhere that does. Thanks,
