I don't know how you waited that long, your a better man then me. Theres not enough pills at the drugstore to keep me sain for 2 months waiting, on a 4 hour fab job.

You have to be getting itchy to get that thing on the snow!
RogerBzXCR
I herd good things come to those who have patience..

going up in the morning to check out the product before perm
mounting is put in place.
ninja_plumber
Roger, did you ever get your tank back and did it work out?
RogerBzXCR
Tank looks great.. they had to modify it some the fill hole was directly on top of the tank.. which would be covered by the console with difficult access. I told them they needed to add a tube off the side of the tank to hang near the chaincase so I could get at it.. and we worked out mounting.. the builder estimates close to a gal of oil..

should be wrapped up Monday Tuesday..
ninja_plumber
this is fabioonachopper.... a gal of oil.. holy shit.. post some pics of that thing up on here
RogerBzXCR
I will once the sled comes home.. Monday / Tuesday..
RogerBzXCR
Finally complete and back to the garage..I'll post some pix once I take some.. shouldn't be long before it breaths..
RogerBzXCR
Oil Tank Pix are posted..

I switched my ISP from Comcast to Verizon FIOS and low and behold Verizon Network Blocks port 80 for http requests past there outside router.. So I am in the process of working around that crap.. but wanted to get some pix posted..

I am doing some final assembly checks n balances.. gona add some cool juice get the fuel tank installed. open the oil pump bleeder.. load the oil tank with some klotz.. give it a few galons of 93 octane with good ole polaris blue with a 50-1 pre-mix check compression spark and get some fuel to the carbs..

I should have fire in the holes by Saturday..

What kinda cap are you going to use?

Is the other piece sticking up the vent?

Al
RogerBzXCR
The Piece that is sticking up on the pto side is the airbox stand there is a vent on the top of the box.. the cap is an internal expansion cap
the top overlaps the fill tube.. Pretty Slick..
Jeff_G
That don't look cheap!

Nice though.....
fabioonachopper
me and my pops were talking about it and you should probably get it painted before it oxidizes... just something to think about... looks sick man!!!
RogerBzXCR
I should do something to it before it get's loaded with oil!!

Damn I am so close to getting this thing fired..

I'll pull it back out sand it down nicely and get it finished with something kewl.. wink.gif

I know it will look nice!! I hope it runs twice as nice as it looks!! I can wait another week or 2 before I lite the fire.. No Snow yet!!
I been talking about different finishes with my buds and they mentioned anodizing so I have been talked in to having the
tank anodized just to keep it from oxidizing like mentioned.. should be a nicely finished when complete..
xcr/ultra929
anodized red or even black would look sweet. i hope someday i can see that sled run. flannery triples are the shit! i really want to hear how the custom pipes run and sound also.
RogerBzXCR
Oil Tank is Back from Anodizing!!! Let me say that it looks sweet out of the chassis and will dress up the motor compartment with a different twist.. While it was out I decided to have a machine shop re-do the cap threads..

The Tank now accepts the OEM Polars Cap smiley-faces7.gif

Pix will be up later tonight..
