Demolition
I was sick of lookin at my gas guage hover around the "E' for the past week so I decided to step-up and hit it large at a solid $1.24 a litre! I thought to myself......if I can afford a kick-ass Ski-Doo product then I can afford any price that hits the pump. Snow or no snow I gotta represent the Ski-Doo community and fuel my vehicles with the sweetness of fossil fuels. Even if I had to sell the baby's shoes gas I gotta have! For my truck or my sled even if I gotta sell my bed!

Let's face it........if gas hits $5.00 a litre this winter I am still gonna ride as if it was free.

So to all the oil and gas refiners and suppliers out there.....have your suits take a good long suck on THIS PUMP!

If all oil and gas is simply made out of old dinosaur bones then lets get diggin a big hole and get the hunters and trappers to wipe out all the living creatures so momma nature can start converting them into fuel. We can start with the tigers, pandas, and polar bears. They are getting rare anyway! I'm sure it can't take that long to have the remains turn into gas....can it?

I'm gona start with my neighbor's cat tonight. It's about the size of a litre.

Just came from Swan this weekend...you deserve to pay less for living up there! Kinda like getting a cheque from the government for sympathy pay.

Demolition, you best be paying...I gotta justify that '06 sitting in my garage!!!! Did some scouting in the Ducks...we are good to go. Gas is cheaper up there apparently!

that is why I just bought a 4 stoke Yammi for next year!
YukonWild
Yep really sucks, I live in the Yukon Canada and last summer gas prices were maxed out around 1.40 per litre. Stayed around 1.05 -1.15 all winter, I remember my dad saying how crazy it was when gas got up to like .80 a litre, and how we were gunna have to start using gas less and stuff. And now we still have 5 sleds running, and 2 gas guzzling vehicles. Everyone complains but there is nothing we can do. If I have to sell myself all next winter just to go sledding a couple times, then I will.
rammer356
Its so funny to see this post. I was watching a special on Newsnet about gas prices. They had a guy from the oil companies there and a guy representing the comsumers. The consumer dude told the oil rip off guy that they raised the prices when hurricaine Katrina hit , and now that that is over they just decided to keep it high to make more money. It was funny to see the oil dude stuck for words. The government and the oil companies are going to keep ripping us off, so get used to it. I call the government "the legal mafia" , except the mafia actually keeps their word when they say something.. the government........well thats another story.. crooks they are... JMO. (119.9 a liter here)

I go through a pile of gas with my job, and thankfully it's paid for, but these kind of prices can send the little shop owner or trucker outta work. Where the hell are all our gas taxes going, sure and the hell ain't roads, so why not drop them so were not paying $16.00 for every $50 of gas.

I will ride no matter what this winter, but I really may consider keeping my yammi and dropping the tripple...I hate to do it, but at $1.24/lt I'll be looking for the cheapest ride possible.

Everytime the Gov't says they can't step in and do something I think we should all pull a vote back for that party..of course that goes against my previous post in the other topic
The Flying Pumpkin
I just noticed driving to work this morning that the gas has gone up YET again today. Dugald it's $1.20/litre. The city will be higher no doubt. I heard on the news a week or two ago that apparently at this time of the year right now, they are already almost at the total Profit they made on fuel for the year 2006. So they're going to at least DOUBLE their profit on fuel for 2007. That's INSANE!!!! I hate how they have us all tied down here. I need my vehicle to travel back and forth to work everyday. It's one thing that the fuel prices keep going up, but it's another thing when we don't get the cost of living increase on our salaries to accomodate it.

What we need to do is get some psycho paths out there willing to go on a killing rampage! LOL. Kidding. I'm referring to the whole Jamaica riot years ago when their gas prices went up. Can't remember the exact details of what they did, but it worked. Gas went back down.

I agree with what was said. If they were putting the gas tax money that we all too willingly contribute to into fixing are roads, then fine! But they don't. The idiots are pocketing it I'm sure.

I would love to hear of an idea of what us Canadian citizens can do to get the message across to the government to drop the fuel prices. Yeah okay, that email has gone around numerous times about not buying gas on a certain day, or not purchasing gas from certain companies. I've abided by all those myself, but as we can all see, it hasn't worked. I don't care what anybody says, the prices are too high and there's got to be something we can do to stop this robbery.

The price of gas is up, means there is a shortage of gas, means there will be more work, means I will make more money, now I can pay for my new sled thumbsup.png
I hope it is a cold winter so there is a shortage of natural gas, so that I can have fun with my new sled also.

the only trouble with the above post is that all the gas in the city, manitoba actually, comes out of one or maybe 2 different suppliers, yes thats it, next time you see the gas truck dumping off gas at petro, follow him to shell when he's done, then maybe he will go to co-op when he is done there. this simply will not work! if you do not believe me, follow a truck next time! for your info, it most likely is a paul's hauling truck tanker.
swamps
I don't know about you but I have a co-op membership and I buy my gas always from them. The first couple of years the dividend checks didn't seem that big. But last year I got a check for about $130 so at least its something.

Another good option would be everyone start buying Hybrid cars. I don't know about you guys but the Toyota Camary Hybrid looks like a normal car, but it gets 50 Mpg/City and 50 Mpg/Hwy. Its Electric engine power assisted by a gas motor.

We also get a credit from the gov't for buying one of these vehicles. Some tax break or something, and the cars come fully loaded for about $33,000 not to bad at all.

Just my 2 cents

Just as a note....Federated Co-Op has it's own refinery in SK I beleive, as we deal with them on some other matters it's been a topic of discussion once in awhile. So they supply all the Co-Op's with fuel.

coop fuel in winnipeg comes from the same place as petro and esso. just north of perimeter on main or henderson. mohawks fuel from minnedosa. shell has their own in east side of wpg. i think they will haul coop fuel out regina to about virden.

I agree but it is sure tough hauling sleds, boat and getting into backcountry lakes with a Camary. They do have a Hybrid Chevy that only gets 2 mpg better and it is about $5g's more. As soon as they have a hybrid truck that has goog mileage and the increase in cost is less than paying for more fuel I'm buying it.
4MULA-DLX
I've never seen anything but a Co-Op fuel semi loading the station a block from work, can't see them going all the way to Virden and not finishing off in Winnipeg as I believe Federated Co-Op ends in ON, past that you get Co-Op Federate (french)

Coop semis are hauling there own fuel but they are getting it at the plant north of the perimeter. They then haul it to all the different coop stations in manitoba. The winnipeg trucks go as far west as virden. The trucks from regina haul from their own plant and haul in sask. Sometimes the regina trucks will haul to virden if the wpg trucks can't. Knew a guy who hauled for them.

I had the same feeling I went down to talk with Toyota I told them I want to haul my sleds etc. They said they didn't recommend it but if I didn't do any major hauling they said it wouldn't be any problems.
Then he tried to upsale me on there Hybrid SUV the Highlander. It gets 39 MPG/HWY and 40MPG/City driving, although its not a truck an SUV might be the closest thing right now. It does come with 4 wheel drive.
The only thing I didn't ask about was price...
As far as the Hybrid Chevy I would not touch it at all yet, until they have had a few years in this type of field. I know with Toyota they have been using these Hybrids now for a good number of years and there holding up pretty good from what I see. There now starting to implement them into all there fleets of vehicles. I would think we should see something come out soon to the Toyata Tacoma or T100 series trucks. That should be good!!!

next ur gunna tell me a new tundra will haul n get as good a milage and power as my dmax~

Gov't job- I get $0.394 a km, so thats like $35 a day to Stonewall and back. I know that's way more than I use so the extra money I can use for personal driving. Gas prices are just rediculous, but if you play some cards right and find loopholes and stuff it can be less of a hit. It jsut takes research. My dad has started carpooling. Why not right? Cut his gas bill in half.

Yes Yes we know you drive a big duramax. You obviously need it for work not just play and can wright off gas and a portion of your truck. Nobody was putting it down nor was he saying a tundra could haul as much.
