Spring has come - But we can still find great snow just outside of town. Here are a few pictures from this sunday may 13. rockernana.gif

I tried water skipping for the first time this day..... My first run wasn't very succesfull - But lucky for me, there were people with me who knew how to get the water out of the engine and get it running again. 3 snowmobiles took a dive that day. :-)

Anyone else still riding ?

Nice Pics Klas, looks like a Awsome area . This may seem like a foolish question, is it actually Too Cold to ride much in your area during the dead of winter ? I can t imagine you have much of a summer.
Klas
It's never too cold to ride.. the coldest i have tried was -26c .. as long as you drive it's ok.. but it can get cold when taking a break.. Of course if there's a hard wind it can get pretty bad.. once my glasses froze stuck to my forhead so the skin came off when i took them off grinning-smiley-023.gif

The summer up here is also great, not super hot - but ok. last sunday our citys only swimmingpool opend ( it's an outdoor heated pool ) The kids have been in it every time i go by it. both in the morning and in the afternoon.

I personally think my city have the best climate in greenland.. we usually have a great winter aswell as a great summer - And not so much spring / fall raining periods. The only thing that can make winter suck is the darkness.. we have a a period with only a few hours of sun light. but in the spring time like now the sun is up 24hours a day grinning-smiley-023.gif

Any of you guys feel like housing an american for a few weeks??? I'll buy the beer whistle.png .
Klas
Sure - only problem is that 1 beer cost 3,5$ ! ! !

Just bring your own sled, or buy one. We don't have rental sleds unless you want to drive a polaris indy 500 from 1986.... grin.png

Slightly off topic but I've heard Greenland was deforested by the Vikings about 900 years ago to build houses and heat houses.

Are there any trees in Greenland now or is it still baren with out trees?
Klas
I don't think the vikings removed any threes, the old houses was build from stones not wood.

Cool thanks - I was kind of wondering what Greenland looked like.

The book I read was called Collapse by James Diamond.

It talks alot about Greenland. Good read if your looking for a new book. I highly recommend.
