Nice! When do we get some pics on the water? Too bad it was so damn windy this weekend! Didn't get the 'bu in until Sunday and that was just to run it back from the launch to get it on the hoist.
You need a canopy for that thing.

Canopy is being ordered this week. I will get some action pics next time I am up. We put 2.5 hours on it over the weekend to try to get the break period over. I can tell you that this thing is amazing. It is so responsive, I have never driven anything like this. The exhaust sounds awesome. I can't wait to get behind it.

I forget. Did you get the Monsoon or the LCR? I rode in one of those with the Monsoon 2 weekends ago and skied behind it. It's amazing how smooth that engine is with the cats on it.

Monsoon. The engine is so smooth, I just gotta figure out all the gadgets now! It is going to take a little getting used to. When in reverse, it gets tough to steer. It seems that no matter which way the rudder is turned, it just goes straight back lol. No complaints about the boat what so ever. At 26-27mph the wake seems to disappear. Throw the wedge down and then we have a monster wake. It should be a awesome all around boat.

Yes, you can't steer in reverse other than to the starboard side. To dock, come in at about a 30-45 degree angle slowly on your right. Once you're close, hit the reverse and the back end will suck right up parallel to the dock. These boats really don't maneuver well at slower speeds. I always recommend tying a buoy to an anchor out in the middle of the lake and practice slow speed maneuvers around that.

Nice ride, it sounds as if this is your first inboard....it takes practice and feel to be in the brotherhood of the rudder. Once its mastered it becomes second nature
good luck

Yeah first inboard. Our last two boats were I/O's and then an outboard before that. I can tell you that this boat handles so well and is so responsive. Comes out of the hole amazingly. I can't wait to get the boom on and practice footing. That is my main goal for this summer.

Is your boom a BI? You might have some issues with the pop-up pylon and boom. I would make sure to pad the area below the boom clamp so it doesn't make contact with your upholstery in that area. Also, the V drive booms tend to have more spring back than other booms due to the funky quad bend. I recommend taking a rope and tying the boom back to the rear cleat. Run the rope up alongside the gunnel so it doesn't interfere with crawling in and out of the boat. One last thing, on our 21' V drive, an 18" boom extension works well for using the boom to teach new skiers. For footing, the side spray isn't a problem, but for teaching small kids to ski using the boom, there is some side spray since the boom protrudes out the side farther than it would on a direct drive.
Have fun! And be careful doing bat turns. Make sure everyone is holding on tight!

Yup that is the reason we didn't put the boom on yet. My Dad is going to cut a piece of plastic to separate the boom and the upholstery. That is what our salesman recommended. I will keep that in mind when we install it to tie it back. I can't wait to start footing again. I have only done it a few times off of a buddys boom.

So, Josh, any videos from this season footing? See you this winter?

Definitely see you this winter. Right now - no vids but a couple pictures. I didn't do it a whole lot so I never got off of the boom this summer.
