I have a 2007 ranger xp 700 & it blew a belt today..............I was in high gear going about 30mph on a dirt rd. & bang, the belt blew to smithereens..............now I have had over 15 Polaris products (snowmobiles/atv's) & never had a belt issue until now................It's going in to the dealer tomorrow for a new belt & a going over, I saved the blown belt for the guys to examine, but I think it's too hard to tell why it blew.............I'm hoping it was just a defective belt, but here is my question, anyone else out there with a 700 fuelie that has blown belts ? There is 84hrs & 660 miles on her.........Any recalls/updates to the clutching that I should know about ? Thanks.............. beer_cheers.gif

Prose, If your machine was manufactured after march 6th 2007 it will allready have the new motor mount, part number 3021936, old motor mount part number is 3110044. The biggest problem is in the secondary clutch, there is no way to adjust belt deflection. I would install a roller secondary clutch and then they really come to life. If you need one let me know. Thanks Dale!

Thanks for the info Dirtydale.............Since I had made my original post I shreaded another belt in less than 2 hrs use............I mentioned the motor mount issue to my dealer the 1st time, obviously they didn't check or listen to me...............The 2nd time in I had a bunch of info from prc forum(excellent ranger website) & low & behold they checked them over this time & found a broken mount.............Dirtydale I purchased my 07 700xp in October of 2006 so it obviously had the bad mounts.............Other than this belt/mount issue, this ranger has been the most versatile machine I've ever owned & now that I'm a little older & don't need/want to play in the gravel pits,I'll never own another atv again........side by side all the way...............Thanks again for the info from you guys..............cheers.......... beer_cheers.gif
