If anyone knows of anymore derbys let me know. I hit carberry and notre dame this weekend. And the old man will have his new quad for next weekend so we want to have some fun.
Glass Racing
St.Malo is having there derby May 5th, and it's huge. I believe last year they had around 500 quads. It is well run and was allot of fun last year. I'm missing it this year, It's opening day for Red River Co-op Speedway.

Woodlands is having a derby May 6th, we are going in that one. The trails around here are great right now. The derby starts 6 miles north from #227 junction on Hwy #248 -- Watch for signs. Call Trevor for more info204-461-2254.

It would be quite a drive for most of you, but there will be a 2-day overnight poker derby in Gillam June 16th. Weather permitting, there will be live entertainment and a pig roast in an abandoned gravel pit just east of town, with an obstacle course on sunday. This is a great ride through lots of bog and swamp. You WILL get wet. It has traditionally been a group ride, with no-one left stuck in a hole somewhere.

Hello everyone,

Just to give you all a heads up on when the poker derby is this year. The date is set in stone for Saturday June 16th. Tenitively this will be a two day event if all goes well with an obstical course/mudbog on the Sunday. I'm also planing on changing the route this year and having it end up in "B" pit where I'd like to have a pig roast/shaker that Saturday and Sunday's event. Probably gonna camp out there that night too.

If all that doesn't work out though we'll probably just default back to the old trail. Maybe run it backwards. And have the shaker in my garage. Sort've works out both ways.

Anyways, this is just for information purposes for any of you who plan to attend. We all know how that shift work screws up everyones schedule. Just want to make sure everyone has sufficent time to book those days off if they choose to.

Please pass this on to anyone else you know who might like to attend.

I'd just like to annouce that the Boggy River Riders, 3rd Annual, Gillam ATV Poker Derby is set for Saturday, June 16th.
Registration will start at 9:30am at Kettle Park. Poker Derby will start 10:30am. You can also pre register the night before @ 186 Button Ave.

We will leave as a group so that nobody gets left behind. The ride will leave Kettle Park and follow the trial North of town out towards Pump house beach. We will then make our way past the airport to the electrode line. We will follow the electrode line around the south side of town, past the Hydro yard towards landing lake. From there we will take the trail around the back side of the eskers to just behind Radisson. We'll cross the road and ride the old rail bed just past Boots creek and then cut through the bush towards the power line. We will then follow the power line to "B" pit.

At "B" pit we will be having a pig roast along with an assortment of salads. The cost will be $10.00 per plate with one free drink. All other drinks will be sold for $1.00 a piece. If you do not pre order food and do not have a food ticket you will not be fed on site unless there is extra after everyone else is done. There was a problem last year with people not pre ordering for their family and some people didn't get food who did order. If pork isn't your thing I have not problem with you bringing hotdogs or hamburgers to cook on the BBQ.

All people who choose to attend this event must be registered and sign a waiver before joining the ride or BBQ. All participants will be asked for their keys apon arrival at "B" and will not get them back unless they have not been drinking. DRINKING AND DRIVING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
There will be a designated place for camping for those who choose to stay the night. We will also have lights and music set up for the night. All vehicals, ATV's and Trucks must be stay out of the designated cooking and camping area. There will be a good chance that their will be live music there as well.

Each poker hand will cost $5.00 or three hands for $10.00.
Best Hand 50% of pot
Second best 25 %
Worst Hand 25 %

Like last year we will have a raffle and prizes at the end of the derby. All proceeds will go towards paying for the cost of food and the rest will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I would like to ask everyone who does plan to attend to get back to me ASAP if they wish to stay for the Pig Roast. I will hold food tickets for all derby participants until Monday June 4th and then will sell them to anyone who would like to join the BBQ and evening event.
If the weather does not co-operate with us the derby will still be on but will revert back to last years route with the Pig Roast at my place 186 Button Ave.
If you guys/girls have any questions you can contact me via email or at home at 652-5768
If anyone has a company or a group that would like to donate a prize, your logo and any information that you would like posted will be displayed along side our other sponsors.

Thank you for your time and looking forward to hearing from all of you

Posters for the derby will be up this week
