No, I'm sure the problem/cure is in the shocks. It rides smooth at 40+ MPH, but at lower, riding with the other half speeds, it is just a little stiff. If it was the spring rate, it would still ride stiff at 40+. I'm trying to find a balance between family riding and with the boys riding. In a normal year the time is usually 50/50.
Because of the rear suspension geometry that could be quite a task. I've been experimenting with alternate rear track shock valving. Currently on the 5th generation shim map. The sled rides very well through the trail junk at speed. Argueably better than any other sled. It's the low speed valving that I'm having trouble with. I've dialed in the center shock with a 120# spring and went extremely light on the low speed valving on the rear. I'm still struggling with the intermediate shim size. I'm going to try the two stage approach one more time. If this latest set up doesn't work, it'll be time to try a three stage. Right now it's either too light or too heavy. Like I can't get enough transition with a two stage valve stack. Medium speed rebound has been an ongoing problem with the 136" track. It would rear it's ugly head on the big rollers. The high snowX seat exaggerated the rebound. Last weekend I completely eliminated it.

I'll keep you posted on further findings.
