On February 27, 2007 Shoal Lake Thunder and Ice held a meeting in regards to a letter posted by Pitcrew, on HCS February 20,2007, regarding our 2006 races. Tom Garlick, Randy Buchanan, and Robby Eastcott were asked to attend the meeting to address opinions stated on HCS Forum. None of the above showed up to the meeting. Copies of the postings were passed to the twelve Thunder and Ice members to read. From this letter there were 8 statements that were addressed.

1) Tom you stated Randy was so close a matter of %. Thunder and Ice was using IRS rules as a guideline and ISR states 0% over bore for stock, 1% for IMP stock, 2% for modified. Randy states he can be 5% over bore. Randy's sled still failed !!!!

2) Tom you stated Randy was teched at Hudson Bay, Sask., Thunder and Ice called Hudson Bay and confirmed that he was teched but race coordinator stated tech didn't know what he was doing and that all the mod sleds that won at Hudson Bay were thrown out for over bore at Montreal Lakes, Sask. So much for you being teched !!!

3) Tom you stated "We won the 700 mod class". You cheated to win the race and later were disqualified after being teched. Is that something to be proud of? Secondly, you have no business dragging Darin Cramer's name into this because Darin never would have cheated to win a race. Thunder and Ice decided not to disrupt the awards presentations because of all the family members present and would settle the protest later. Farm Boy's Racing agreed to this and so did Randy. After failing tech, Diane Cramer refused to pass the trophy to F.B.R. because Randy had stated F.B.R. had said the "F" word in fornt of Jesse, Diane's son, so she did not feel it should be given to F.B.R. Fact was that it was the Arctic Cat crew using the "F" word and this was witnessed by a Thunder and Ice member. Thunder and Ice will purchase and present a trophy in memory of Darin Cramer and the 700 Mod class he raced in to F.B.R.

4) Tom you stated the protest came an hour after the races finished when in fact the protest came 10-15 minutes after all the finals were done.

5) Tom you stated Randy agreed to be teched but not till after being told he would loose if he refused to be teched. Doug Nichols and Paul Kokke were our pre-race Tec's and Doug Nichol was to do final protests. Doug was asked to tech Randy's sled but stated he could not because his bore gauge was damaged and he could not measure the engine, so the next option was to tear down the engine to use regular calipers but Randy refused. Randy asked for another tech, Thunder and Ice suggested Paul Kokke do the measuring, Randy refused. Randy then agreed he would let 2 other people check the unit. Tom you stated the Dennis Ostash was the only one to tech the sled. Fact Dennis Ostash and Dale McConnel teched the sled.

6) Tom, you stated, Mr. Ostash had no idea how to measure the sled and would not let anyone else do it when in fact Thunder and Ice called Dale Rogers from Meadow Lake, Sask. to get the formula for bore and stroke = cc"s. Mr. Ostash and Dale McConnel have probably forgotten more about sleds in 30 years then you and Randy will ever know about sleds in a lifetime. Get your facts straight!!! Tom were you there when Randy's sled was measured? No, the only people there were Randy Buchanan, Robby Eascott, Dennis Ostash, and Dale McConnell. Michael Burr was also there, but was denied access. Randy's engine was measured numerous times, and it still had FAILED, when Thunder and Ice checked the engine, they found a ring had been turned to the exhaust prot and Randy was informed of this. Conspiracy you say, Thunder and Ice could have let this go, but you know who would have been to blame when it blew up!!!! After failing tech Randy Buchanan states he wants F.B.R. 680 Ultra teched. Thunder and Ice denied this request. A little after the fact.

7) Tom, you state that it is Randy's fault that there are no races in Shoal Lake for 2007. Well there may be some truth to this. All the Thunder and Ice committee are volunteers. We all have jobs that occupy our time and do the races to generate income to groom the trails in the Shoal Lake area. The Thunder and Ice race committee does not need this crap. It would be very easy to just say "To Hell With It" After reviewing HCS forum and looking at the sheer volume of verbal diarrhea from Pit crew, sledder 6, wicked, sled junkie 69, BTW, and whatever you, and Randy call yourselves, it would be easy to say " NO RACES". When in fact after the 06 races Thunder and Ice made a decision to let 2007 rest and decided to persue other avenues of fundraising, that required less manpower and time to do. You cannot imagine how much time is spent grooming the track, putting up tents, getting worker, taking registration, taking stands back and this is all done with volunteers!!! Tom and Randy, you should really try volunteering and do this year after year to see what it takes to be part of a volunteer group and then get bitched at!!!

8) Tom you stated that tech should be done at every race, we at Thunder and Ice agree. Winners in the finals should go to the tech pit after the final race. Also, these techs need to be done by someone who knows what they are doing and having the tools to do it with. The reason you need teching is because SOME people feel compelled to enter the wrong classes on purpose or forget to mention little things like big bore kits that would put them into the next class or bigger.

In conclusion, Tom and Randy, it has been a year since the 2006 Thunder and Ice races and you have to drag this shit up again. You were CAUGHT and YOU ADMITTED numerous times on HCS that you were over, so get over it and shut up about it. Everybody is tired of hearing your ranting on HCS. As for the Farm Boy's Racing, the sled was measured for bore and stroke and found to be stock.
So much for the theory about old technology Randy. This just goes to show you that test, test, test, beats throwing a wad of cash at a sled to make it go fast. That ultra beat you in 2006. and then it beat you again in 2007.

In closing, Thunder and Ice would say that, way to much time has been wasted on this subject!!! The Thunder and Ice committee did not want to stoop to your level of using HCS to bash everyone, but knew that the facts had to be stated and now they have been!!! Let it die already as no one really gives a rats ass anymore.!!!
