Ok guys, looking for some clutching help for the sled above. It is going to be Flat Land ridden Boondocking in Michigan and Quebec. Elevation might be 1000', maximum. Who should I use for Clutching or does someone have a recomended Set-up? Thanks for the help!

Here's what I did with mine. I have a 2007 Summit 600 HO SDI and I like you mostly boondock in the UP of Michigan. I basically went to the the Doo patrs site and looked up what a MXZ Renegade was using. Here's what I did and you need to do, to change to make your sled a flat lander. Change out your gear box sprockets to 504096200 which is a 21 tooth sprocket for the top and 504148500 which is a 43 tooth sprocket for the bottom. Your 74 link drive chain will not need to be replaced. You should also change your spring out in your clutch to a blue/orange spring.

The original configuration for your Summit is as follows.......top sprocket 19 tooth 504152030, bottom sprocket 45 tooth 504152238. The drive chain part # is 504151857 and it is good for both set-ups. Plus you either had a blue/yellow spring or a violet/green spring.

You will also want to adjust the clutch adjustment feature that Doo has to approx a 3 for flat land. I run it at 6 when I'm above 8000 feet.

Ok , Ryan with what t660redrocket said here , I have the gears in stock I think, will need to check on gear thickness/ width, mostlikly I have the springs & clutch weights also if needed. and clutch tools. beer4.gif

Going to Renegade gearing with a Summit track seems a little tall, especially with a 600. The ratios shown above would be going from a 2.36/1 to a 2.05/1. Granted you are making more HP at sea level but there is a huge weight difference in the tracks along with the difference in the amount of snow you're trying to push. I would think if you got into some heavy wet snow it would cause problems. I would stay with the Summit gearing or something close to it. Clutching would be where the real gains are. I would believe the clutching for a Summit would be a little light because of loss of HP at altitude. Maybe try a little higher force spring in the secondary and some adjustable pins in the primary. With some heavier weight in the primary you'll capture your horsepower and the higher force spring in the secondary will hold your shift in the deep snow. Try for 8100 - 8200 on your factory tach (7900 - 8000 actual), the stock Doo tachs generally read 100 - 150 rpm's high.

Thank you for the advise, I am willing to try anything once....

Beardog, let me know if you have the parts. If anything we can get a couple of coctails and talk about it........ beer_cheers.gif
