Recently bought (cheap) a project and a half! Older Polaris Xplorer in very poor condition and want to make sure I can register it before I sink any $ into it. I just cant seem to locate the Serial #???? Appriciate any help you can provdide. Is there any good ATV forums? This site is great for sleds but where to go for ATVs?

Take a creaper and role under the center of the ATV. The # should be on the bottom of the frame rail just as it turns up towards the front shock. Use a wire brush or sand paper cause they are etched in with some sort of engraver and will be hard to see if rusted or dirty.

Which side of the frame?

The serial number is on the left hand side on the bottom frame rail right behind the tire. Early model years are stamped in later years are engraved in very lightly. Dale!
