Just bought an 08 Summit 800 XP 144, where I ride in northeast mts. we get lots of deep powder, but also run on some packed trails and hit occasional ice. I chose the Summit over the Renegade because I like the powder tunnel, narrower ski stance, which I could'nt get with the gade , although I like d the 136, but it was only in a 1-1/4" lug. We have found the happy medium here is 136 x 1.75 or 2" with screw in studs for icy encounters. Is it worth my trouble putting a 136 x 1.75 ( which Camoplst will have available by fall) on my Summit? Will I lose too much with the 144, the 2.25 height seeems to be overkill, could I screw in studs on that track? If I swap can I modify the rails, or do I have to change them out? Any advice will be appreciated, I see a lot of Noreasters on here,Sno West guys don't really understand our terrain.

My mistake, it's actually a 146, thats the smallest they come, but I think that only transmits to 1" more on the ground than yours, you had no isssues in the trees, and did you use any screw in studs, you gotta be getting some icy and hard pack ares in Maine.
