Lakes are all ice, and water, no lube at all. as of sunday. and when you get on lake at mocassin (if its not all water) you go left not right to the bridge. go straight/left. follow tracks. hopefully there's ice left this weekend! should be nice hopfully!

Here is trout river entrance on lake vermillion as of Sunday April 15th 2007. Bit muddy on the other side but over all it was great. Not too deep though and some dead heads in the water.

i wouldnt go. just checked out the lake and not looking good. way open in pike bay. by fortune bay, its open a good 6-7 feet and i threw a rock out there and it broke right through the ice. its dark dark black and mushy

talked with one of the guys at fortune bay and said about 6-10" left but alot of soft spots out there. not safe at all...

If any one wants to skip we are going to be at devils track lake north of Grand Marais this saturday. At least 300 ft of open water the Ice still looks safe.
