Going to be installing an 800 VES into my 04 RMK - 144 chassis. Looking for recommendations before I install. Who sells an engine plate that you have had success with? Also the torque arm. I hear that these are esential for reliability and want to install good ones that have worked for you.

Also, recommended clutching, jetting. helix's & gearing for flatlands (MN) and Bighorns. Thanks!

1200psi(Brad) on SnoWest sells a good one piece motor plate for the 800 VES motor. They are around $155 I believe. Well worth it. Completely bolt-in application. Bolt it to your crankcase and drop the motor in on the mounts. Done. SLP sells a torque arm for the RMK's. N2oiroc(here on HCS) makes one for the Pro-X's but I don't think it will work on the RMK since the bulkhead and engine mounting area is different.

I am running a 144" on my Pro-X and here is my current setup.

SLP single pipe/can, SLP Airhorn kit, 2 SLP flowrites in dash, V-Force 3 reeds, N2oiroc torque arm, SLP push arm(another good investment), and button secondary. Does the 04 RMK have a TEAM clutch? If so, this secondary setup definitly won't work and the primary setup may not either. RMK also has different needle's than the Pro-X in the carbeurators, so you may need different main jet and needle setup as well, but this should be close. I don't know the elevation for the bighorns I just listed the 3 areas I've rode with this sled.

Flatland setup(South Dakota) 1300 ft.
Polaris 10-66 weights
SLP blue/silver primary spring
Polaris R8 50/34 helix
SLP black/grey driven spring
20-42(2.10 ratio) gearing w/74 pitch chain
460 main jets
needle clip in #3

Black Hills(3-6000 ft.)
Polaris 10-64 weights
Same primary and secondary springs as above
same helix
same gearing
410 main jets
needle in #2

West Yellowstone(7-10K feet)
Polaris 10-62 weights
Same primary and secondary springs as above
same helix
same gearing
380 main jets

i second brads motor plates, well worth it and very well made.
buy the push/pull arms from slp for your sled.
my clutching as per "pockets" on this site in a IQR with a team secondary and slp pipe and silencer.
green/yellow ves springs. Gear to around 24/41, 1.70 ratio. 66/44-.46 helix with a black spring, 3 delrin washers. almond/blue primary spring with 68 gram weights. 8000 rpm.
im geared lower than that at around 1.9 ratio but it all works very well.
