Seney Trail Report:
DATE: 4/11/07
BASE: 0"
PAST 24 Hrs: Cloudy
CONDITION: Spring
We put on 80 miles yesterday and today. We groomed earlier this week and the trails are still in pretty good shape. They finally plowed CR 450 so that way out is only available if we get fresh snow. You can still get out of town up the 77 ditch line. It should last the weekend. The temps get into the 30's during the day so we loose a little each day. There are a few dirts spots showing thru in a couple of corners but basically the trails are in great shape. On trail 431 just south of the 443 junction loggers plowed the road for a few hundred yards. Don says we will groom again this week-end if it snows. There is still good riding to be done as long as you understand the parameters. The only gas stop you can make from here right now is in VanMeer so you are limited. If like off trail riding with a few groomed trails thrown in, than you would certainly enjoy an April ride in the UP. I won't be able to give you an accurate update over the weekend because Don leaves on Friday for Washington to lobby with the big wigs for snowmobilers . He has been riding daily an been my source of information. So please bear with me about the updates. If you want to cancel your reservations for the week-end please let me know ASAP.

I was up there Tuesday for a day ride. We parked by the Fox River and rode over to the Beartrap for lunch. We met the Seney groomer on the way. Seney is the only groomer going. We did abunch of off trail riding on the way back to the truck. Conditions were good for april but not the powder that there was last Friday. The county and loggers are out plowing secondary roads. Thanks to the Seney groomer and those that support their efforts.

I think it would be good riding this weekend even if it warms up, There will be a couple of thin spots but nothing that would stop me. If they get a little more snow it would freshen it up a bit.
