I just bought a 97 670 Summit x on ebay real cheap because it was seized. I have rebuilt a lot of two stroke dirt bikes but never a snowmobile. The weird deal with this seizure is the pull start won't turn anything, (yes the pull starter is fine) but I can turn the crank at the clutch freely for about 40 degrees then it stops. I talked to the previous owner who said his son was riding it they had gone out for a half day and they got back to the trailer and were idleling then it just quit. I haven't torn into it yet, plan to this weekend. I worry that a rod or a skirt broke. Any ideas and things I should look for?
