Hi guys......In order to properly manage airflow changes on my Mach Z I'm installing an A/F meter on the dash and the o2 sensor in the expansion chamber, this will effectively allow me to monitor changes (made via the Boondocker fuel management box) when I modify the system with both a higher altitude BRP map (which runs leaner and advances the timing slightly) and a free flow air intake which will also produce a leaner mixture. The gauge will show me what's going on (rich or lean) and I can ad fuel accordingly. Should be very cool and safe - my brother granaded his 700 Cat motor out on Lake Scugog last weekend after numerous high speed runs.......Famous last words - "she was running great".

Cliff let us know how that works out for you.I havent noticed my 07 mach z x running rich enough to hurt the performance of my sled like my efi cats have are you adding pipes? From what Im reading the water temp is not getting warm enough to let the 1000sdi engine to run at it full potential,The ecm is thinking cold seisure and then taking matters to correct so that it does not have engine damage.

Thaks SS........I'm stickling with the stock exhaust for noise reasons (the odd trail ride can be fun) however I'll endeavour to get max airflow via mods to the airbox etc (installing the air flow kit) which will require more fuel than the stock 'open loop' FI system can probably support, hence the Boondocker box. Remember the ECU map in a Mach Z is not reading an o2 sensor so it really doesn't have the ability to correct for fuel changes in airflow to any great degree.........I also plan to go with Cudney's higher compression heads - 13 to 1 compression as per Bill Cudney.
These motors much like the bikes I've built are just bif air pumps the more air you can process (combined with more fuel) the more power you make! As an old hooker friend of mine once said - "the more you blow the faster you go!"
