Anyone have this problem when riding in deep powder? When im on the throttle hard it will sputter, i was thinking it could possible be maby the pipe is getting plugged in that deep of snow..idk how that would happen but i have no other clues on whats going on..i can hold it pinned fine on hard pack or packy snow..just in powder it will sputter after a little bit of riding though it

Probly the exhaust getting plugged a little, or maybe snow is coming throgh the intake grates but i doubt it.

yeah i dont thnk its coming through the intake.. is there like some kind of heat senser type thing? Cuz on my friends zr that wont run for crap in powder cuz the snow rolls up over the hood and hits the senser and makes the sled run crappy, his senser is right by the pipe

Sounds like snow getting in your air box. Do you close off your hood vents? I used to even tape off the insides of the hood vents when in the deep powder. Any melted snow ends up hanging out in the boots right next to the pilot jets.
Another thing. Snow melting on the headlights will drip down into the air box through holes in front of the headlight. Rob had a tip here about closing that gap with dishwasher drain tubing. It was ugly. I did the same thing with a section of clear vinyl tubing. Follow the link.

ya, i did the same headlight thing but with a piece of pipe foam insulation. It was supposed to be a quick fix thing, that turned pernament and now it just sits there. It used to be ugly as hell but arcticfx trimmed it up for me when he put on my graphics.

k ill try that..would that make it sputter? i know water in the carbs and gas would but would the air box soak up the water first cuz its like a quick thing...soon as i hit hard pack its good to go
