A buddy of mine ALWAYS fills up with premium over regular when we ride. His sled has no heavy mods like pipes or cut head, just powerbreather, reeds and spacers in the stock cage. Says its better dunno.gif

Does it really matter, maybe a better burn to keep powervalves cleaner. What do you guys and gals fill up with and why?

Also, what is the most expensive you have seen gas when riding? There is a gas station where I ride near Waters Mi that is always about 15cents more than the station 1000ft away! :augen41:

Many discussions on this topic, do a search.

I use regular. Premium is not "better", it burns different. If your sled calls for regular and is not modded don't waste your hard earned cash and don't believe the hype about better vs worse when comparing octanes of the same fuel. :div20:

I agree,if it ain't modded ther's no need for high test except if you like the smell, now as far as cost on the trial 2.35 a gal gottha by the balls the owner told us :div20:

Bottom line is to use what is recommended in the owners manual.
Premium only makes more power when used with higher compression ratios. One thing premium may do, since it actually runs cooler, under lower (normal) compression set-up, is that if you are jetted too lean, it may help prevent burn down...... for at least another couple hundred yards...

Only time I would run premium in a stock engine is when the gas may be suspect. If the engine is designed for 87, run 87.
