soupy
i think its the sno-cross weekend at mcually mountian too
fastcatF7
i rode tug hill last year when it was in the high 30's low 40's and it was bad...jsut had to break off the trail sometimes to get the snow on the heat exchangers wasnt too bad though
soupy
well i hope the temps fall a lil bit i stay at the northwoods inn and the only way i will be to get any where is off of fourth lake becuase 28 is ussually beat when the temps are cold and theres plenty of snow
ViperGTS/F7
Supposed to stay cold(bitterly cold on tuesday) until next saturday....trails have plenty of snow but roads will be toast when sun is out.

Unless it rains during the day on Saturday when temps warm, you should be able to get your last ride in with no problem next weekend....

They were very reluctant to give me a new pipe too and first told me that 04's weren't covered anymore.
He never did flat out say to me that it would be covered and told me he would have to check with Cat and would call me during the week to let me know for sure.
Never heard a word back from them and I have new pipe on sled.......as far as I'm concerned..it's covered. whistle.png

if theres no precip saturday or sunday 3/9-10, it will be a carbon copy of this past weekend. When i left last night from OF, the conditions were awesome. They got probably 6-8 inches saturday night and another 3 yesterday off and on all day. If the temps hold on, we could see some great mid march riding. Long range temps for the next two weeks after this weekend is what scares me right now. Time tells the tale.

Was Moose and 4th mush?

Im thinking about this fri and sat

One last hurrah?(!)
jstokes8407
should be a good weekend they have been getting snow and the forcast has changed for the better
ViperGTS/F7
I'm here right now but am getting ready to leave...got about another 4 inches of new snow this morning.....trails were a bit bumpy yesterday but groomers were heading out when I was returning late yesterday afternoon. I am sure they are primo now.
Lakes are pretty decent but Stillwater reservoir has some frozen slush bumps and heaves that can be pretty hairy when you hit them wrong. Any soft spots should freeze up nice the next few days on all lakes....gonna be bitter cold.

I plan on returning this upcoming weekend.

whats the deal with the mach shootout?

The main drag down 4th lake was pretty beat down, no slush. Anywhere off that main drag though....slush. To be honest with you, i did not go to Glenmore, big moose at all, I passed it up but I heard trail 10 to Glenmore was pretty good sat afternoon. I would imagine big moose lake for racing is the same as 4th where its packed down. Its gonna be good temp wise til friday night, but sat looks iffy. I am gonna make my decision later in the week.

Yup that is why I asked. I know him and he is a great guy as well as the guy Dennis who owns the shop where they do the welding. anyone that needs welding done, including heat exchangers welded, go see Dennis and co. at his shop. Great guys!!!

On sat morning we left Old forge and rode to Eagle bay. The trails were ok. Lots of traffic. We passed two groomers but it was getting warm out and the sun was shinning. We had lunch and headed to beaver river. The trail leaving eagle bay was bad. We took the tracks to beaver river. The rails were just starting to show in some spots. It you had a studded track you could feel the rails. I do not like taking the tracks ever. We got to beaver river had a drink and took the six mile road the the resivor. The six mile road was bad, very bumpy. WE took the resivor to stillwater , it was a little slushy. Then we rode back to old forge. The trails sucked. To much sun, traffic and high temps.

That was pretty much my experience. You should have driven the length of the flow, 7 miles of slushfest. My parents stayed up since the weekend, they said it is prime right now. They got 18inches since sunday, and the groomers are out full bore. Jealousy!!!!

Should be good temps. We'll be at the Rock Maple race at the mountain with our cameras. Check out the site.... www.jonescamnewyork.com

Do you sell the cameras? Do you have ones for people that ride a Polaris so you can see the sleds behind you? Lol

The OF & Inlet trails were really good yesterday... actually excellent!! And very little traffic when I went thru there late afternoon. The Inlet side of the Moose River Plains was also excellent... Temps looking to stay cold thru Friday... that should help keep the trails good..... But with weekend traffic & high temps... they could get crappy quick.....

Sorry he meant "Do you have ones for people that ride a Polaris so you can see sled parts fly out behind you?"
