This concerns the gas in the oil issue.
I believe I can see what the problem is and hopefully others can chime in here with your thoughts and suggestions.
The pressent system has the oil comming from the sump straight to the cooler and then on up to the tank reservoir.
The cooler has had a restricter and a sleeve added in what I believe is a polaris attempt to try and keep the oil warmer and boil off any gas making its way into the oil.
Here is my thinking on this.
I believe the system would work better if the hot oil from the sump was piped up to the tank where it could boil off and degass its self there.
Hot oil from the bottom of the tank could then go to the cooler and then to the main oil pump supplying the engine with a nice cool supply of oil.
I also believe the restricter and sleeve could be removed as well as they would no longer be required.
The only unsure thing about this is I dont know the temperature rating of the tank as it would be full of hotter oil.
Unless I am missing something here, I think a hose change would be a pretty cheap fix for Polaris.
I did post this on the Ask Polaris section on the other forum but that forum seems to be down.
Does anyone know if Polaris reps read here?
